brianoneils slidingtackle Posted 17 December, 2009 Share Posted 17 December, 2009 I'd like to invade the pitch but I'd start wheezing and coughing after about 2 seconds if I had to run, maybe us old farts could have special dispensation :-)
Wiltshire Saint Posted 17 December, 2009 Share Posted 17 December, 2009 As for that 'David Sweden' fella, genuine question, is he retarded? You seem to be forgetting that some of us remember your posts and the suggestion that someone else is retarded is a bit rich coming from you. Used to post on here a few years back, I stopped when all the funny/interesting people left and it became all to serious. Going by this thread, it hasn't changed one bit... That's right, all the good people have left so there's no need for you to stick around. (by the way, by "funny/interesting people" he actually means racist and unpleasant) I sincerely hope that was'nt aimed towards me... for your sake. I am removing you from my friends list. What a silly thing to say, and to HS of all people. That man is worth a billion of you. I remember Rees. Good poster. No, he was an idiot, and judging by his lastest posts, he still is. Then again, you were a bit of a suck up on b-anter in those old days as well weren't you? A bit of a knob sometimes in the way you tried to win favour by trying to fit in with some of the naughty boys and their naughty ways.
ooohTerryHurlock Posted 17 December, 2009 Share Posted 17 December, 2009 Is it possible you could both come to your senses and continue your handbags with PM's, please..? Thank you. To come to your senses you need to have some in the first place and I feel this is where the problem lies as it is obvious that TS has no sense or why else would you call for a 5/6/7/8 to be banned from a football stadium? When the age of criminal responsibility in England does n't begin until the minor reaches 10 years of age. Surely it is then not an issue to questions someones intelligence/common sense if they cannot graspthis fact?

So the lad goes with some mates or an older brother, or a friend to watch the game.He runs on the pitch which, no one in authority objects to.... (a couple of steward run after him,but stewards are like poorly trained greyhounds, they react to movement, generally slowly, and are not quick enough in the mind to make a decision as to why they are doing it.) ... and the next thing you his dad and mum, whomay not even like football get banned??..... It wasn't an offense in 1966. It is now and is against the law to enter the field of play. Yes, the child is below age of responsibility but the parents/guardians should be dealt with as they are responsible for him if they are with him at the stadium or not especially as many have suggested it isn't this kids first time doing this. As for what Pardew said I think he should retract it and just because the manager said it doesn't make him right. He may have thought it funny but the club should think more carefully about giving publicity and congratulations to offenders no matter what age. They also put his picture on the OS giving the kid a well done badge and encouraging his impressionable peers to do the same in the future. St Landrew Posted 17 December, 2009 Share Posted 17 December, 2009 I'm beginning to think this thread has run it's course. The Kid who ran on to the pitch did wrong. But it all ended cheerfully and happily, and Papa Waigo turns out to be a rather nice bloke, as a bonus. But the Kid should be advised that he shouldn't do it again, or he or his parents/guardians/the club could get into trouble. End of story, I think. Thing is, when the kid ran on the pitch, even the players thought it was over. He was half way to them when they realised, there or there abouts. It's a totally different situation so don't take it out of context, I doubt nipper would run on in the middle of an attack.

Far easier to make it "no-one is tolerated at any time on the pitch" rather than have a grey hazy approach where kids are allowed sometimes. What age is the cut off for acceptable and cute? As I have said before a dangerous precedent is set the day clubs ignore people entering the field of play.

I don't give a **** how old you are, To be fair must managers will tell you,and any fan will know that over a whole season luck evens itself out, It is very unlikely if you ran onto the pitch anything would happen, the game would stop and the stewards would run around trying to catch you and they would get back to the football...... I really can't see you having an impact on our play off chances....even if youthink you can influence it!! right i really do have to go....let me know if youare going over the wallon boxing day as I might come and join you.... but keep your hands off rickies shirt!!!! xx

Wes Tender Posted 17 December, 2009 Share Posted 17 December, 2009 Original thoughts that it was a bit of light-hearted fun have to be tempered by consideration of further information which has been offered. If it was an isolated incident, fine, provided that it does not happen again. If it incites copycat action from other kids, then it needs to dealt with by the club and if they are concerned by it, an announcement made over the tannoy that any further pitch invasions will be deemed to be more serious and might result in banning orders should nip it in the bud. If this particular kid does it again, then he needs to be told in no uncertain terms that he will have to face the possibility of not being able to attend future home matches. That ought to be sufficient to deter him. If it is true that this kid has done this before at away matches and is encouraged by other kids and there is no parent or other adult guardian with him to control and supervise his behaviour, then at his age it seems wrong that his care and safety is treated in such a cavalier fashion. Serious questions would have to be asked as to his family circumstances.
