Plumstead_Saint Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 I dont care what competition this is. I dont care what opposition we have had to play. The fact is we are 1 two-legged tie away from a day out at Wembley against a team we have already played and beaten convincingly. Imagine 30-odd thousand Saints fans at Wembley cheering the boys on!!! can't wait! Better book Monday 29th off
Gigersaint Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 What a day of up and downs! Annoyed that I was in London for work today and didn't get a ticket cos thought I wouldn't be back in time, again annoyed when back in Southampton at 6.00 and could have gone after all. Happy when we went 1-0 up, annoyed at Norwich equalising, P*ssed off that they went ahead. Downcast in the 93rd minute when I thought we were going out. Went nuts when we equalised... P*ssed off when we missed first pen. Went nuts when norwich missed thiers and Bialkowski saved! Went nuts again when norwich missed and Bialkowski saved again in sudden death. P*ssed off when Antonio missed to clinch it and thought it could be over. Went nuts yet again with Bialkowskis 3rd save. Went absolutley mental when Thomas scored the winner!!!!! I'm worn out, now annoyed again that I wasn't there to see it, but ecstatic that we're through to the Area Final against the MK Dons. COYR!!!!!!!
Pat from Poole Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Does anyone happen to know how it is decided who is at home/away for each leg of the area finals? Guessing we'd rather play away first... Not sure if it's the Bruce's Play Your Cards Right style draw again on Soccer AM to decide the home / away thing. I do quite actually like the way they do that, and think the FA could make the FA Cup draw a lot more interesting by doing the same.

Bevans Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Can't believe it first time i've left a game early and that happens! My lift was leaving at 85 mins and I didn't fancy the 8 mile walk in the cold......

austsaint Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Fantastic listening on Radio Solent "down under" ....penalties started 8am, Australian time.....I have just taken my first "sicky" from work for 2 years!!!!! What an inspiring result......great call by Chris and Dave.
Joesaint Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Can't believe it first time i've left a game early and that happens! My lift was leaving at 85 mins and I didn't fancy the 8 mile walk in the cold...... That really must be quite a poo feeling, but still great!!!
Stepgar Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 I think your text got read out on radio solent! Wow that is really scary as I didn't even send in a text!! Cool
Under Weststand Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 After the first 2.30 minutes of added time I'd given up on us, but Papa gave us a life line in the last seconds. When James missed for 3-2 Norwich my heart dropped again. But Bart became the Hero and put us in a position for Thomas to win the shoot out for us. What a . of a ride that was. Also 10-points on the prediction league :smt040 for 2-2
Saint_Jim Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 **** the FA Cup now this must be out priority!
docker-p Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 I've missed a meeting. Who do we play in the area final?
AN Saint Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Is it me or did Grant Holt get booked twice? the bbc live text has him getting two yellow cards but no red!!!!!!
St Landrew Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 I was thinking I don't give a **** about the JPT but oh my; my win cry could be heard for miles. COYFR Far too busy even to tune into the radio this evening, but managed to make the odd check. Whooped when Papa scored [far, far better than Jermaine Wright ], then next I saw Norwich were 2-1 up. It doesn't matter, I thought. It's only the JP Trophy. But in my heart, I knew this team would fight, even as I was already forgiving them. And they did fight, and I'm so glad they did. I'm a believer..!
jawillwill Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 can't wait! Better book Monday 29th off Isn't it on Sunday 28th?
Under Weststand Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 I've missed a meeting. Who do we play in the area final? MK dons they won 4-1 tonight HTH
Master Bates Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Sorry but MK Dons home and away, Wembley is certain. At the end of the night, I came.
Victor Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Thats just being silly. Everyone know the Community Shield is next season. Everyone know Fotherington-Thomas is a wet and a weed.
Saintleigh Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Just seen the highlights on SSN. Great saves by Bart in the shoot out. F'in love it PS PMSL at the "was it Harding or Waigo for the equaliser" line. Easiest spot the difference game going.
markr27 Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Just shown the goals on SSN, 2nd Norwich goal was a bit of shambles, could have been a pen had the ref not played the advantage. Looks like Waigo for the equaliser as well?
saints_is_the_south Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 get the f*ck in there! Was just walking down the steps of the northam about to leave before holt's blatant cheating sent me on a mad run down to the front of the stand. Very glad i stayed down there to go nuts when papa scored! Really couldn't see it coming! Still shaking now from the penalties! Well played bart especially the last 2 saves excellent stops! Bring on mk dons!
BadgerBadger Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 match report from the Johnstones Paint Trophy website - duh: After taking the tie into a shoot-out Waigo was one of two Saints players to miss from the spot but substitute Wayne Thomas calmly rolled home the decisive kick
saint-luco Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Leave the FA Cup Draw alone.... don't **** with tradition! do they still pick the ball from bags then, oh no they dont, tradition gone then

hypochondriac Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Get in! Just got back and still buzzing. Best game in ages!
Jimmy_D Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Heh their manager going balistic that the ref waved play on when Holt was down injured and was off the pitch... he should have already been sent off!
docker-p Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 MK dons they won 4-1 tonight HTH Cheers UW, I never wanted to go to MK Dons out of principle, but in the words of the late great Groucho Marx, "those are my principles, and if you don't like them.... well I have others"

Bring on mk dons! That'll teach you [and anybody else] to think about leaving early on this team. I wonder how many people missed a classic ending, just so they could get to their car without hinderence..?
Under Weststand Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Heh their manager going balistic that the ref waved play on when Holt was down injured and was off the pitch... he should have already been sent off! Ha Ha Lamberts A right C**t I f**king hate the tw*t. Merrington commented on holts theatrics trying to waste time, but he was off the pitch. So why should the game be stopped.
sfcuk fan Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 I really really really hope Markus was there to witness this epic match Proof if ever to him that he did the right thing in buying the Saints and bound to burn the initials SFC in his heart forever !!! :smt040
Jimmy_D Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 seen the Sky News highlights already... Anyone have any idea if full highlights will be shown anywhere?
John McAndrew Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 That'll teach you [and anybody else] to think about leaving early on this team. I wonder how many people missed a classic ending, just so they could get to their car without hinderence..? serves them right lol....
Saints Pedro Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Would Saints v Leeds fill Wembley ? I think it might!
It's There Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Get in! Just got back and still buzzing. Best game in ages! What exactly (please feel free to go into detail) made it such a brill game? I wish I'd been able to go!
Shroppie Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 this +1 Can't believe I was so worked up about this. But it sums us up now - everythung matters and we don't give up, we don't lose. I'm happy as a Saints supporter for the first time in years, and the whisky is flowing. Sod work tomorrow.
It's There Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Would Saints v Leeds fill Wembley ? I think it might! In a word- YES
Master Bates Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Ha Ha Lamberts A right C**t I f**king hate the tw*t. Merrington commented on holts theatrics trying to waste time, but he was off the pitch. So why should the game be stopped. Did you hear Merrington done the Lambana?

Saint Samuel Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 MOM to the 6 year old pitch invader. He usually sits next to me in the Northam! Great stuff, as soon as we grabbed that last minute equaliser it was always gonna go to us in the shoot out.
Plumstead_Saint Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Isn't it on Sunday 28th? Yeah. I don't work Sundays. But the day after I might be a bit hungover from celebrating/drowning sorrows HTH
saint-luco Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 IM so gutted i play 6 a side on a tuesday and work and play footy on sat/sundays i need to start going to some games again this is the 1st time since i was like 14 that i havent been to a single game before xmas im feeling like a plastic fan boxing day is a must i rekon were get 25k plus even if we dont beat leeds sat cant rember a time when saints went on a run like this. feeling like a plastic fan eh???? you are a plastic fan hehehe
mightysaints Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Holt was a **** all night, i am sure he got booked twice and then took a dive making out he got hit with an elbow. Can't believe how dirty Norwich where once they went 2.1 up
Redondo Saint Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 God, I wanted an early night tonight. Then THAT happened! I was jumping around the house like a un-tamed baboon!! SUPERB SAINTS. SUPERB! I think a tame Baboon would also jump around tonight.
Toomer Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 We used all our get out of jail free cards tonight, I thought the free kick at the Northam end I thought that was it full time whistle would blow when kick was taken. Papa's going to Wembley his knee's have gone all trembley. Wayne Thomas coolest man on the pitch.
Tractor_Saint Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 Special mention to the 5 year year old who thought it was all over....and papa giving him a cuddle awwww Sorry - thought that was wrong and even more wrong was Papa giving the kid his shirt at the end. So all 5 year olds from now on will invade the pitch in the hope they get a shirt???
saint-luco Posted 15 December, 2009 Posted 15 December, 2009 I think a tame Baboon would also jump around tonight. well the missus was jumping around, oh not a lot of difference there
