Whitey Grandad Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 Think again Grandad. If they really were the most loyal fans they wouldn't be whining about not getting a certain seat. End of discussion methinks. Time to put up or shut up. Now that makes me mad because I chose my wording carefully. People who have bought season tickets for the last few seasons and have sat through the worst rubbish I have ever seen must be the most loyal supporters anywhere, not those who pick and choose which matches to attend. Sour Mash Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 The club has let it's ST holders down very badly. Some bastard grabbed my usual seat before I got there first thing Monday, fthen told "open seating" whatever that's effing meant to be. Anyway Eff them all up there. None of my mates got their usual seats either so you've guessed thay all said on saturday Eff the Effing lot of them up there.. So that's really good PR guys, effing off half your effing loyal fanbase. Is this the shape of things to come? Just to get things straight and make sure we're all talking about the same thing here, a football club didn't offer you one exact seat for one game of football? That is what you're going on about right?
Block 5 Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 Now that makes me mad because I chose my wording carefully. People who have bought season tickets for the last few seasons and have sat through the worst rubbish I have ever seen must be the most loyal supporters anywhere, not those who pick and choose which matches to attend. I have a ST. I have sat through multiple seasons of rubbish. I will sit where ever there are seats available. Who is more loyal? Me and the thousands like me or the whiners who are throwing their toys out the pram?
Saint Lindford Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 The trouble is you can't please all the people all of the time. Yes I would have wanted my seat to sit with the people who I have sat with since the stadium opened but I want to watch my team so will just have to move, not ideal but hey worse things happen at sea! Have the club ****ed up? We just have to wait and see. Luton, with all respect to them for what they have been through, are not tbe biggest draw in the world so maybe it is designed to get people all together rather than spread all over the stadium. We all want to see SMS sold out once again but it aint going to happen just yet. The crowd has been loyal despite what has gone on, we get more than nearly every CCC club and more than several PL clubs despite our league position. At the end of the day if you want to go you will, if you don't then you won't. UTS
Thedelldays Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 why do some people think the club OWE them something all the time..?
CB Saint Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 Can someone tell me what is so good about the Kingsland stands? Have they installed padded seats or in stand heating that I wasn't aware of? Yes it is nice to sit in "your own" seat in cup games surrounded by familiar faces but, I am at a loss to understand why it is so important to sit in a specific seat at a cup game. And to boycott the game on that principle... Come on people get some perspective and concentrate on what's really important - supporting a team you love. Whitey Grandad Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 why do some people think the club OWE them something all the time..? An interesting question which helps to crystalise points of view. Should the regular supporter continue to turn up no matter what, or should the club respond to the concerns of its 'customers' who pay their money and in exchange expect to be treated to entertainment and respect? I use 'customers' for want of a better word

I use 'customers' for want of a better word dont go then.....this happens all around the football league...it saves money. SMS has an advantage on most grounds in the football leaguel, in that the farking view is superb no matter where you sit
StDunko Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 The Kingsland and Chapel ST holders are hacked off because they can't get their usual seats and if they still intend to go, will most probably go to the Itchen, as most view the Northam as a last resort. That leads to another hacked off group of ST holders in the Itchen, who can't get their seats because they have been sold to others. I already have the tickets for my seats in the Itchen, so don't have a problem, but I can see further problems for all concerned, if we do attract a normal Saturday gate, the Kingsland will be opened, causing ST holders to try and change their seats. It might have been better to open the usual Saturday areas, especially as it is the FA Cup and a Saturday. My thoughts exactly. The FA Cup does not usually suffer from poor crowds (especially at SMS). With cheap tickets, why mess things around? I would have guessed that we would get 20,000 for this one, especially if Luton bring 2000.

Whitey Grandad Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 When do the Luton tickets go on sale? Cant seem to find any date on the OS. Cheers That is another beef of mine. The OS is only for truly devoted followers of the faith. The answer is Monday 7th December. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1894275,00.html

Saint_clark Posted 15 December, 2009 Share Posted 15 December, 2009 Behind either goal or in the corners is a terrible view no matter which stadium you are in. Disagree, I love the view from that Kingsland/Northam corner and even in the Northam this season it's fantastic - although it is quite embarrassing when you can't tell which way the ball is going, and you half jump out of your seat thinking it is about to nestle in the back of the net. Whitey Grandad Posted 15 December, 2009 Share Posted 15 December, 2009 Behind either goal or in the corners is a terrible view no matter which stadium you are in. I agree. At least at SMS the corners point towards the centre of the pitch, at Highbury you were looking along the west stand and Portman Road gives me neckache. Me and the thousands like me or the whiners who are throwing their toys out the pram? As above I have a season ticket but I have to move as my seat is not available. But I get seat in new part of ground, I get to meet new people, I get to see Saints win in cup (hopefully) & The club saves money by not having to open all parts of the ground. The answer is Monday 7th December. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1894275,00.html However they are unlikely to sell many tickets, given that the game doesn't appear in the fixtures list on the OS! Without wishing to stir up the earlier row again btw, I am a kingsland ST holder who has (reluctantly) bought seats in the Itchen for this game. I think that (as long as the OS eventually recognises the existence of the game!) they have underestimated demand. This is after all the 'start' of the real FA cup, the 3rd round, when we normally join it, not just a mickey mouse, Freight Rover, Leyland Daf, John Player cup. ( I am going tonight as well btw) I'd expect 14 to 15k and maybe more for the Luton game. K.
