Spudders Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 Bournemouth really get my goat, a couple of years ago I went to the preseason friendly and was called a scummer on numerous occassions, the pre-match pub was even closed and the windows were boarded up, proper king edward on the shoulder. As for the town, a bumhole with no pubs, just walkabout type bars , BOOOOO As someone who's lived in Bournemouth for the last 10 years, I do find the whole Saints Bournemouth thing funny, but sometimes a bit cringeworthy! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not a great fan of Bournemouth fans myself, however I’ve worn my saints shirt around town here loads of times and never had any grief other than being called a scummer. But then I’ve been called a scummer in plenty of places when wearing a Saints shirt, even when abroad. I actually like it, as to me it’s a reflection of jealousy (just my opinion). The thing is if a Bournemouth fan calls you a scummer, what’s the comeback? As least with the skates they have a derogatory name we can come back with, poor old Bournemouth, do they even have an offensive name? But my point is, as a saints fan, if you are in a different town to watch a game of football and you get called a scummer is that a massive surprise? Loads of people on here go on about Bournemouth fans having a chip on their shoulder and looking up at us as their local rivals, when there is no real rivalry. Yet people on here seem quick to state their dislike for them, why is that then if there is no rivalry from us? Kipi, you can't have looked very far if you think the place is a bumhole and has no decent pubs!! There are shed loads of pubs across Bournemouth catering for all sorts of tastes. Wow a pub was boarded up, oh noes, a town with a pub that’s closed down. Are you sure you didn't just look around Boscombe near where Dean Court is, as to be fair your statement would then be correct, likewise if you head from Bournemouth Station towards the ground there are not a lot of pubs, but Bounemouth generally has loads of pubs. As for it being a bumholm of a town…. LOL! I don’t even know where to start with that! I moved her in ’99 as it was one of the nicest towns I’d ever visited. Yes there are some dogturd areas (but aren’t there everywhere!). I went to the Bournemouth Saints friendly at the start of this season and by the time I got there it was pretty full so I was down towards the corner where all our ‘yoof’ were at the back. Oh how I cringed at them all singing ‘you’re just a town full of pikeys’ over and over….. oh the irony! My dislikes are: Skates – No explanation needs Derby – The way they came on to the pitch and mocked us after the play-off game was sickening Spurs – From the days of Hoddle, now they are managed by an equally annoying *****. Newcastle – Fans generally seemed to think they were always a top four club, despite not having been there for ages. Hopefully relegation will bring them back to the real world. Other clubs I look out for: Villa – Couple of mates who support them, so keep an eye out for their team just as they seem to do for Saints Southend – After the SpongeBob love-in match I will always wish them well
Saint Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 Pompey - Obvious Brighton - Think they have a rivalry with us. They were always the sh*t club when i was growing up, still are now. Calling Poyet 'genius' after first game. Chelsea - Bought success, arrogant tw*ts Liverpool - "Oh the history, Bill Shankly" shut the ***** up. Gerrard, Carragher, Torres is a whiny little b*tch. MK Dons - Joke of a club. Hull - Phil Brown. Don't deserve to be where they are. Man Utd - Fans are all arrogant and most of them have never been there. Manager thinks he's the exception to every rule. Bouremouth - Again, feel they have a massive rivalry with us. Couldn't care less about them. They won enough points to get into the playoffs. They won the playoffs. They won enough points to escape relegation, despite being odds on for it at the beginning of last season. They are currently outside the relegation zone.
krissyboy31 Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 P*mpey, Spurs, Manyoo, Leeds (United and Rhinos) Newcastle, Birmingham City, Burnley, West Ham, Charlton, Palace and Hull Kingston Rovers. I'll add Sussex and Northants CCC's to that list and because of Benitez, I'm getting the strange feeling of wanting Manyoo to do better than Liverpool at the moment. mightysaints Posted 14 December, 2009 Share Posted 14 December, 2009 Got to be Chelski, spoke to a client the other who made out he had been a big Chelsea fan for years but had never heard of the Shed end, all clubs that have a majority of plastic fans are to be hated. I know they deserve to be there in terms of all that. It's just weird seeing teams like Hull and Burnley in the Premier League. I've got nothing against them really (except Phil Brown being an idiot). It would be good to see teams that have fallen foul back in the top flight one day. Notts Forest, Sheffield Wednesday, Leeds, Newcastle and of course Saints.
Foxstone Posted 18 December, 2009 Share Posted 18 December, 2009 Hate Liverpool ( Boris Johnson was right - They just love to suffer loudly) ! Manure ( Ferguson and all the pussy footing around him by the establishment) Spuds ( For any number of reasons but most of all BlueKnapp)! Everton ( 1984 Semi-Final) Poopey for obvious reasons.. Have an affection for Borussia Dortmund and Schalke 04 - Had the pleasure of once attending a Ruhr Derby match - 80,000+ passionate fans singing and chanting at a decibel level I have never heard bettered anywhere, and a raucous atmosphere that has to be seen. and a highly entertaining 3-3 draw to boot while drinking beer in your seat ! Red Alert Posted 19 December, 2009 Share Posted 19 December, 2009 Due to my solid distaste for Liverpool and the ideas of a "big four" in general. I want Villa/Man City to take 4th this season so for today, and only today I shall be wishing the Skates well. If only to play out a boring nil-nil would do me fine though. Goodfellas Jay Posted 20 December, 2009 Share Posted 20 December, 2009 Gotta love freds like this.... Skates - obvious really, but anything and everything that is associated with them.. The city, navy stuff, westwood.. There was a time I couldn't wear anything blue or even hang the washing out with blue pegs.. This comes from living for a long time in a skate area and day after day hearing how much better they were than us in the 80' and 90's... Spuds - goes back to the early 80's when every single kid seemed to be wearing a Holstein shirt.. And then some bloke called hoddle.. Luton - nasty club, nasty ground and nasty fans.. Norwich - as I lived in Ipswich for a few years.. They despise each other as much as we hate the skates... and Delia... Mancs - winning the title at The Dell, just could never get over that.. Teams I look out for - Dundee Utd Yeovil - went cup final at Villa Park when they beat Stevenage.. Ipswich - see above, but very similar club to Saints.. Sporting Gijon - long story... Red 'n White stripes....
dubai_phil Posted 20 December, 2009 Share Posted 20 December, 2009 Do I hate Skatesmuff or do I simply pity them? Tough call, they spent so long dreaming of days when only their Grandparents existed, got all excited and then poof. Nah hate the feckers. Others - I like watching the way Arsenal play football these days but hate their fans who put me in hospital simply because I wasn't smiling when walking out a game early to avoid trouble. Mancs am starting to also get p1ssed off with citeh fans as well, look forward to seeing them slip up For some reason never liked Forest, but the runners up behind Skates have to be the two Milan teams followed by Argentina - not because I don't like them as a team, just every local down here wears an Argetina shirt when England are playing just to p!ss us off for some reason. But the worst, by a long stretch in the realms of sports related hate has become the Yarpies. Nowt to do with football but simply their offensive, loud mouthed arrogant attitude to all things especially their beloved Rugby team. Hell, they're about the only thing in sport that Aussies, Kiwis and Poms can agree about! District 9 the movie shows them up for what they really are
St Landrew Posted 20 December, 2009 Share Posted 20 December, 2009 Don't hate any teams, just don't consider them. If I'm pushed for an opinion, I'd like to see the glamour clubs all have an amazing drop in form, due to their finances going seriously skewed, and they have to sell their players, and get themselves relegated. That would be fun. Arsenal relegated for the first time in their history. ManU - what would the media do..? Liverpool - More crying and wailing for a once great club. I'd be OK with Chelsea just beating the drop [maybe the next season for them], because they've only been a glamour club for a few seasons, and I'm not sick to death with the media fawning over them just yet. Can you imagine how SKY would squirm at having to leave out Arsenal, Pool and Manure because they weren't in the Premiership..? Just imagine how competitive the Premiership would be too. It would possibly even be quite interesting again.

saints_is_the_south Posted 22 December, 2009 Share Posted 22 December, 2009 Only got 3 English teams I have a pure hatred & dislike for. Skates - Obvious reasons Man Utd - Just hate them, their fans, their manager & players. Almost as much as the skates Spurs - Really grew a hatred for them after the Hoddle affair & now because Redknapp is there & due to my following of Italian football - Lazio, Juve, Inter, Milan & Napoli.
