Ignorance

I can remember everyone berating Fuller and he went on to do really well! I'd happily take him back now! Football fans aren't happy unless they are moaning. I remember one game a bloke came and sat next to me in the Northam and he started smoking. I said watch out mate, there's a steward over there. He told me to **** off and mind my own business. I didn't care he was smoking, just didn't want to see him get chucked out! About 5 minutes later we scored and he gave me a more loving hug than I could ever have been comfortable with. Bizarre.

Some blokes stood behind in the 1st half were actually berating Pardew, shouting "Pardew you w4nker"!! I questioned them and was told "will he needs to ******* change it" I then said "yea your right, 1 defeat in 14, what a w4nker Pardew is" called them all pr1cks and told them to sit down and shut up. Funny, second half they were all singing "Alan Pardew's Red & White Army" couldn't make it up.

Ps. I know we are on a different planet than Tranmere but were their spoiling tactics the most frustrating thing to watch ever or what!

Whilst it's great to be happy clappy and this site is should be renamed something on those lines these days - we were very poor and rode our luck in the Norwich game scoring whilst in pannick mode not through a structured tactical advantage. Indeed quite the opposite so lets keep a sense of proportion with the result on Tuesday. Tactically and to some extent individually were left wanting for quite long periods. Pardew was indeed slow to react and to my personal frustration continues to persist with our very weak right back when Thomas would be a far better alternative. It is very true to say also that inmany games we have played with a lack of width this year giving us no outlet in midfield. We have actually won several games through individual skill rather than tactical advantage and guile.

Pardew has assembled a good squad but lets not look at every aspect of his decision making through rose tinted glasses.

We have spent money - much more than any other team in this league and there are a lot very poor teams in this league.

Lets give a balanced view and let people have their opinions - some of what they say could just be true......

Block 4 has some of the mongest fans you can ever imagine. The 2 *****s behind me spend the entire 90 minutes slagging of James/Papa/Antonio etc. and they call Pardew "parsnip" ffs. Tools of the highest order. If we ever play Rotherham they should go and spend the match with the chuckle brothers.

Get over yourself.

We are in League One.

We must judge ourselves by League One standards.

I'm not entirely sure how I should go about getting over myself - is some form of gymnastics (or a ladder) involved ? Yes we are currently playing in the 3rd Division but as some of us are blessed with memories that extend well past last week I tend to take a longer term view of the true (dare I say rightful) place of SFC in English football .

I'll take this opportunity to entirely disassociate myself from the alarmingly large number of Saints fans on here that seem happy to see our club play in the lower divisions - a fundamental lack of ambition on display here I'd say . We are all in the gutter but some of us are looking at the stars , as Oscar Wilde may have said .

I don't know why I must judge the team merely on 'League One' standards , do you consider our facilities/wage bill/players .. etc to be only typical 3rd Division fare or our they in truth rather better than that ? I'm pleased that after a 'slow start' (AP's words not mine) we are now achieving good results , frankly a half season average that irrespective of the next 3 results will still be well under 2 points per game is not that much to shout about and the very least I expect from this club with this level of financial resources in this division . I make no apology for saying that by the end of next season (barring a unlikely but very welcome play-off triumph this) I expect to see this club promoted .

Perhaps I'm being too demanding or bloody unreasonable even - you won't be surprised to read that I see this as just asking for a proper return on (Mr Liebherr's) more than proper investment .
