MPs expenses

I don't pick him out specifically, as he is one of many who have been outed in the latest round of expenses and he is not claiming for a bell tower in his mansion either.

 

Is there an argument that £65K is not a good enough salary for an MP and is that why some are abusing expenses? Thoughts please.
