As I have said before Rickie Lambert must be one of the best signings SFC have made since moving to St Mary's

Niemmi I thought was the best until Rickie

Who else have I overlooked Davis Perhaps and Killer of course

An inspirational signing and he will see us all the way to the Premier League (we can hope!) Not sure how he'd cope at that level though.

I think he may be too old then

Antonio doesn't look like a footballer, Ricky Lambert is a wonderus thing, I love the guy and he's pretty good looing as well, as is Morgan. I think the key to our success is getting more good looking players on board.:smt008

Lambert is brilliant, but let's not forget Harding who came to us for free!!! He hasn't had a bad game yet.

As for Antonio, who has been mentioned on this thread as well, my views are clear. He is not what we are looking for. In fact, he is quite dreadful.

As I've said before; I love Rickie Lambert to bits & it's his goals that will take us back to the CCC. I just hope he stays fit through the long, hard winter ahead. Today's goals take his tally to 18 for the season...and it's not even Christmas yet! Brilliant stuff Rickie. Long may it continue.

Is Rickie a more natural goal scorer than Rasiak was in play off season 20 goals by FA Cup 3rd round then nothing till about may

Rickie is a more rounded player.

Rasiak was a striker, he scored goals - no more, no less.

Rickie brings so much more to the team in terms of assists, lay offs, passes etc. I also think he's got a much more powerful shot on him, it's like a bloody rocket.

What about the 0-0 with Colchester at home? Harding was at fault for their two best chances IMO... but then what do I know...

There are quite a few worse strikers in the Prem - which is always a bit of a worry...

Lambert is a fantastic signing & so far I dont think AP has got 1 wrong I have been really impressed with the whole set up since takeover Owners manager & Signings have been immense I have to pinch myself at how well & how quickly things have improved

The problem is if he keeps going the way he's going another club might come sniffing. I know we dont need the money etc etc but at the end of the day money talks...................so how much would we let him go for and be happy with if that scenario happens. Like all of ayou I dont want it to happen but every player has a price

Dan Harding is one of the most basic players i have ever seen (good goal though)

Not anywhere near Lamberts league

I would say Hammond has been an excellent signing, not as technically gifted as Schniederlin or Lallana but he drives the team forward, vital tackles and gets his fair share of goals.

Personally, I think it would be a bigger problem if he was not playing to a standard that would make other clubs come sniffing

Pards said after the game on saturday, that Rickie has just about the hardest of shot of anyone he's ever seen.

Can't remember the interview exactly but heard Lambert saying he only started playing up front about 2 or 3 years ago - and the goals came straight away. Before that think he was CM. Still only 27 and not a pace player so could have another 5 years (or 150 goals!) out of him.

Pardew said he should be disappointed if he fails to score in any game. On basis that he scores two some games think a league target of 50 is reasonable?

50 would be amazing - not reasonable !!! Id be verry happy with anything over 30. When was the last time a saints player got more than 30?

I wonder where/when/how Lambert started showing his class. Macclesfield, Blackpool, Stockport, Rochdale suggests he really struggled. Maybe it was the move to being a striker, still a fairly unique change in this day and age.

Could someone put the words to the Lambert song up, I just can;t make them all out and it is an excellent song!

He stands just over six foot three,

Rickie, Rickie

He'll take us to the Premier League,

Rickie, Rickie

He get's the ball, he takes the p!ss,

He wears the shirt of Matt Le Tiss,

Rickie Lambert, Southampton's goal machine

In Feb 2005 Rochdale signed him as a midfielder.

Sometime in that season and a half he changed to a forward.

He scored 28 goals in 64 games. I think any forward who gets close to 1 in 2 games is doing very well - and remember he started as a midfielder for some of those 64.

In his first ever full season as a forward he scored 22 goals and was league 2's top scorer.

Think he had 3 seasons with Rovers, starting fairly slow/steady but obviously with a great season last year.

Think he is still getting better!

Me too, Pardew thinks so as well, as he said that when he came he was overweight and they've really seen the difference after a load of training and fitness work, with Lambert himself saying how much better he feels.

I daren't think what he could do if he improves even more!

Not sure if is been said elsewhere, but there was little bit on SSN earlier today abou tonights match. They pointed out that Lambert is top scorer in whole of England. I know we're league one, but its still good to hear. :-)
