Colinjb Posted 12 December, 2009 Posted 12 December, 2009 Words fail me. Who thought that would be a good idea?
S-Clarke Posted 12 December, 2009 Posted 12 December, 2009 jesus ****ing christ, what smart arse thought up that idea? probably someone earning 60k a year.
bridge too far Posted 12 December, 2009 Posted 12 December, 2009 (edited) However, the sad and sorry fact is that there is more 'culture' in Portsmouth than Southampton. It pains me to say it, but it's true (I mean in the 'arts' sense) Edited 12 December, 2009 by bridge too far Clarification
Thedelldays Posted 12 December, 2009 Posted 12 December, 2009 such a waste of paper...such disrespect for climate change
Crab Lungs Posted 12 December, 2009 Posted 12 December, 2009 Neither city are worthy IMO, but if I had to pick a city which is best for 'things to do', it'd be Portsmouth - who are currently about 15 years ahead of our sluggish council.
Jillyanne Posted 12 December, 2009 Posted 12 December, 2009 How can two cities bid for THE city of culture award?
St Landrew Posted 12 December, 2009 Posted 12 December, 2009 P.S I love you? Portsmouth. Southampton. I wonder how much head scratching local planners did to come up with that one..?
Saint in Paradise Posted 12 December, 2009 Posted 12 December, 2009 I wonder if whoever thought of that even knows both cities have football teams with fans who dislike each other ?
aintforever Posted 12 December, 2009 Posted 12 December, 2009 I'd laugh but it's probably our council tax that has gone to producing that awful card. Sometimes I dispair at our council, what a bunch of ****-wits. Make a complete balls up of the World Cup bid then this.
krissyboy31 Posted 13 December, 2009 Posted 13 December, 2009 (edited) No way Southampton could have bid on it's own and they jumped on the bandwagon with P*rtsmouth as means to an end to get their "cultural quarter" finally built. Neither of which is ever going to happen IMO. It's a pity both cities couldn't have got together to make a joint bid for the world cup, then once P*mpey pulled the plug, we would have still been in the race. Big John Posted 13 December, 2009 Posted 13 December, 2009 P.S I love you? They should have gone for a more fitting acronym in my opinion. Southampton and Portsmouth United for National Culture SPUNC
Big John Posted 13 December, 2009 Posted 13 December, 2009 Anyway, there is more culture in a pot of yoghurt than there is in Portsmouth
