Winnersaint Posted 17 December, 2009 Share Posted 17 December, 2009 63 was the worst winter that I remember. Snow/slush around for weeks and weeks. Only 5 then, but remember it well. Was living in the middle of nowhere in Wiltshire on a farm in Wishford. School meant walking along the A36. It was scary as the pavements were piled high for months with snow/ice and so we literally had to walk along the road with Wilts and Dorset buses thundering past you. Also remember there being snow around Xmas in 1970 in North Baddesley. I had a pair of Adidas Rom trainers and wore them out and about and completely knackered them in the snow. norwaysaint Posted 22 February, 2010 Share Posted 22 February, 2010 There's been snow on the ground here since before Christmas which is a new record. Just as it was starting to disappear, it's all back today, deep as ever. Nobody here ever misses school or work because of snow though, even though I had to dig my car out today, all my students were there waiting for me when I arrived. Bastards. LOL ..... a frozen puddle within a mile radius of a school would be enough reason for Health & Safety to close the school down in England.
