70's Mike Posted 9 December, 2009 Share Posted 9 December, 2009 my 14 year old son wants an ipod touch( going to pay for it himself) problem is he has lots of songs on his nano which re not on itunes on our pc because we lost them when our old pc crashed. is there a way, without buying advertised software, to copy from his current ipod back to itunes and then from itunes to a new ipod touch
mdearlove Posted 9 December, 2009 Share Posted 9 December, 2009 I am pretty sure there is an option in itunes to allow use of the ipod as a disk. Activate that and then you should see the ipod in explorer. You can then copy the music files over to the PC. Only problem with this is that the files have odd Itunes assigned names. I have also used an app called copypod but not sure if this still exists. EDIT - you might want to look at this thread on the Apple forums first - just to make sure you dont wipe the music by accident http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2234756&tstart=
