saint_stevo Posted 8 December, 2009 Share Posted 8 December, 2009 How do I set up my D.C to be the time source for all my client machines (on the same domain) I have googled this til the cows come home, turned on w32time on the d.c, and set up a group policy and applied to all my clients making the dc the NTP source. (Computer Configuration\Administrative templates\System\Windows Time Service) But when I gpupdate my client machines and query the time source (net time /querysntp) it still says the time source is time.windows rather than my d.c….ARRRGH Getting audited on Friday and time sync's is a point in the checklist they sent through…. Come on Boj/Mewsta/Magnet/exit2/badgerx16…….fart and givvus a clue!
Mewsta Posted 8 December, 2009 Share Posted 8 December, 2009 Stevo, I don't use Group policy for this at the moment as I had the same issue. So when the login script launches for users, it runs the following: NET TIME /SETSNTP:\\ W32TM /RESYNC If you then run the below it show's correctly...... NET TIME /QUERYSNTP Is this any help?! saint_stevo Posted 25 February, 2010 Author Share Posted 25 February, 2010 Stevo, sorry mate just realised you replied to this thread. How about /nowait Let me know if it works!! Na no good, says it cannot find a valid time source, so tried deploying a GPO pointing client machines to the NTP server, still no good! Have googled the hell out of it, cant get it sorted Ahhhhhh
saint_stevo Posted 2 March, 2010 Author Share Posted 2 March, 2010 ok, /nowait works, but if i change my time to say 6hrs ahead, it doesnt get reset back to the proper time anywhere? Changed the polling time to 300secs in the registry and GPO but still nothing
