Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 8 December, 2009 Share Posted 8 December, 2009 Everyone gets an invite to the dreaded xmas doo, but to be honest, I can't bloody stand them...how long is an acceptable amount of time to be there before you can leave without being called an anti-social ****? Colinjb Posted 8 December, 2009 Share Posted 8 December, 2009 I'm in the good situation of liking the people I work with, last friday we where up until 2 in the morning draining the Hotel bar, was outstanding. Stay until 10.30 then make your excuses, then you've stayed long enough to appear sociable but have left early enough not to appear too keen.... and you can make last orders at a prefer location. Master Bates Posted 8 December, 2009 Share Posted 8 December, 2009 The Millhouse in Netley have (via Facebook) invited me to a Kids Christmas Party. Being on the special offenders list I don't think I can go.

ecuk268 Posted 9 December, 2009 Share Posted 9 December, 2009 If you've got kids, you can always get a "call" on your mobile saying that one of them is unwell and you have to go home.

I gave up at 3am at mine last week. Somehow got a taxi home, got in, threw all my tux on the stairs and landing (!?), turned the bedroom light on, jumped on the bed and (all apparently of course) insisted I tell my other half how much I loved her. I was popular of course the next day I later learnt that a large group of people stayed in the hotel bar, then went straight to breakfast from the bar, then in to the office

Proper lol.

SNSUN Posted 10 December, 2009 Share Posted 10 December, 2009 We cancelled our Christmas party due to lack of interest. That'll teach the organisers for having it on the 25th. Instead a popular colleague is having leaving drinks on the 23rd. Almost everyone is going to that, so it looks like that'll be the big night out.
