lettuce Posted 7 December, 2009 Share Posted 7 December, 2009 How come some players have to play against 2 opponents...??? Surely 3 darts vs 6 darts is a bit unfair! Agreed, there are some interesting matches in there... Peter Manley vs Andy Jenkins should be an interesting one.
keithd Posted 7 December, 2009 Share Posted 7 December, 2009 i'd not watch Priestly if you paid me! Yeah well done getting over illness etc but he's so dull to watch, no razz to his matazz. And thats what i'd go to watch, people getting wound up, losing the plot, neith McDine nor Priestly will do that I'd go for Mark Walsh vs Mark Webster, Taylor vs "local boy" Monk; and Adrian Lewis against whomever. On November 29th 2009, the Darts Regulation Authority gave Jenkins a 24 month ban, 20 months suspended, for an assault on Terry Jenkins that took place at the Nuland Players Championship, Holland on 25th October 2009 What happened? anyone know? Don't know exactly what went on but there was a bit of banter between the two which got out of hand. Andy Jenkins claims that Terry Jenkins threw the first punch and he was "just" retaliating. Terry Jenkins received no punishment though. Anyway, with Manley being the wind-up merchant that he is, that could be an interesting contest! It seemed to be a 3 way brawl in which Andy Jenkins seemed to be the main protagonist. http://www.pdc.tv/page/NewsdeskDetail/0,,10180~1888005,00.html This is Andy Jenkins second offence, I think he also got fined for punching Mick McGowan a couple of years ago. It's an excellent day out, am going next Tuesday having been last year. Intend to get blindingly drunk. You get a free card, but you have to buy a pen (or steal someone elses!). You all get a free 'hat', though!
Hatch Posted 21 December, 2009 Share Posted 21 December, 2009 what is it like being there...on telly looks a like a cracking day out.. also, do they put those blank signs and pens on every table..? They have two different sessions, afternoon and evening. It was easy to spot the people that had been to both sessions. Saturday was my first time, it was excellent. Going to go again next year. I'm not sure what happened to the bloke dressed as a Christmas Tree, i think he got thrown out. They don't have enough card signs, Mine was made from a bit of card that 'accidently' fell off the wall.

Spooky. we were central with the board and at the front next to some guy dressed as darth vader, its was too close if anything as struggled to see the TV screens and the players blocked the board where we were sat. This year we were sat Row L, Table 5, much better view from there. Have to say the atmosphere this year was a lot better than the previous 2 years. Its always good but this year it just seemed from the first moment we got there Alexandra palace was rocking.

Think I remember Darth Vadar being there, as he got on tele all the time, rather than us! Beginning of session managed to squint and look at the actual dart board, but as the alcohol was consumed it was the old neck craning for the screens. In the end I think we gave up trying to watch (mainly because we'd bet on Remco van Eijden to win!). On front row of 2nd section of tables this year, so hopefully much better. However, the Pie Man has gone out and I was looking forward to seeing him again. Also wanted to see Osborne, but Whitlock was on fire last night. As long as your not behind the TV cameras your be fine, drinks vouchers were £1.85 so your talking £3.70 a pint and you have a choice of Fosters or John Smiths, when will they ever do Guinness i want to know! This year i watched less of the darts than ever before, watched a bit of the qualifying match, watched a bit of Scholten and then just gave up on it after that except for the occassional 'Come on Kirk' when Shepherd was playing. We got told of by the bouncers for singing Rickie Lambert Southampton Goal Machine, funny thing was the table next to us were all from Eastleigh and also Southampton fans so they were joining in as well LOL Well hope you have a good dayup there, im sure you will though. Also just be careful of the ICE whne you walk out as somebody i was with slid down 2 stairs and if weren't hammered im sure they'd have got up in agony

There was quite a nice looking girl with them, my mate spent most of the day trying to chat her up I think. They were all about mid-late 20s if i remember rightly. I just drank Fosters, asked the bloke behind the bar if they done Jaegermeister, didn't go down to well so had a couple of shots of Jack Daniels just to use my tokens up at end of the day. We had a swift one in the 180 bar before hand and they do Guinness and have a lot more of a choice in there.
