offix Posted 8 December, 2009 Posted 8 December, 2009 Got some bad memories flooding back every time I here the name Tranmere. But with the way the team plays lately, I'll say 3-1 to Saints
StDunko Posted 8 December, 2009 Posted 8 December, 2009 They have beaten Aldershot 2-1 tonight. Two goals with their only two shots on target. Two trips to Hampshire in a week. Hopefully that will wear them out.
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 9 December, 2009 Posted 9 December, 2009 Tranmere will be swept aside in a quite spectacular fashion. 5-1 Saints
Thedelldays Posted 9 December, 2009 Posted 9 December, 2009 2-0 saints although it should have been about 9-0 with all the chances and possession
del boy Posted 9 December, 2009 Posted 9 December, 2009 I've been a Saints fan for so long that I expect bad results! In recent years I can only once remember thinking that we are genuinely good now, Im allowed to be confident before the game. That was before Brighton. Back to pessimistically hopeful! COYR
The Godfather Posted 10 December, 2009 Posted 10 December, 2009 2-0 saints although it should have been about 9-0 with all the chances and possession Don't forget the nervous last 5 minutes saints put us through.
corsacar saint Posted 10 December, 2009 Posted 10 December, 2009 Should be comfortable, but we cannot miss the chances we did against a woeful Wycombe side. Tranmere are probably good enough to score once, so we need 2 or more. Head says 2-1 win Heart says 4-0 win.
martel Posted 10 December, 2009 Posted 10 December, 2009 Paul Rideout Hatrick 0-3 That brings back some bad memorys, when we played them at the Dell in the F.A. cup and drew, the saints crowd were singing "you will never see our new stadium",(got that wrong) then we suffered one of the best come backs by any team frankly; still, time for pay back and I reckon we will get a 3-1 win.
mightysaints Posted 10 December, 2009 Posted 10 December, 2009 Due to work commitments i was at the 4:3 game, what was worse was that i had to listen to the locals etc going on about the game for the next few days. Would be great to put that to rest. Prop Hoddles biggest tactical mistake removing Marian at halftime as we had no threat going forward 2nd half
cavey300 Posted 10 December, 2009 Posted 10 December, 2009 Murty out for 5-6 weeks with ankle injury according to Twitter
RedAndWhite91 Posted 10 December, 2009 Posted 10 December, 2009 Murty out for 5-6 weeks with ankle injury according to Twitter ****
100%Red&White Posted 10 December, 2009 Posted 10 December, 2009 What have our next two league opponents got in common? Saints 3-0 up half time, lost 4-3. Ouch. Payback time hopefully.
S-Clarke Posted 10 December, 2009 Posted 10 December, 2009 Murty out for 5-6 weeks with ankle injury according to Twitter ******** - i always like having him in the side. We've looked much more solid..
Scummer Posted 10 December, 2009 Posted 10 December, 2009 Murty out for 5-6 weeks with ankle injury according to Twitter Bugger. I'd be tempted to go with Thomas at right back, as James has been doing well in midfield.
Matthew Le God Posted 10 December, 2009 Posted 10 December, 2009 This is worrying, Pardew can't count! "We have a home game against Tranmere coming up on Saturday and if we win that one we could find ourselves in the top ten." Highest we can actually go is 12th.
krissyboy31 Posted 10 December, 2009 Posted 10 December, 2009 Murty out for 5-6 weeks with ankle injury according to Twitter There's a blow for defender Graeme Murty who has injured his ankle in a training session this week, and whilst x-rays show no fracture, significant ligament damage has occurred, meaning that he could be absent until the New Year.
ericofarabia Posted 10 December, 2009 Posted 10 December, 2009 They have beaten Aldershot 2-1 tonight. Two goals with their only two shots on target. Two trips to Hampshire in a week. Hopefully that will wear them out. Unfortunately it will probably rejuvenate them, a bit of fresh countryside air and scenary instead of Toxteth
jamesfp Posted 10 December, 2009 Posted 10 December, 2009 Tranmere caretaker manager Les Parry told BBC Radio Merseyside: "We can go to Southampton with a bit of confidence. We realise the chances of us winning are slim, if you look at the formbook and players. "But if we perform as well as we have been doing over the last couple of months we've got a great chance of coming away with something." 8-0 then?
NickG Posted 10 December, 2009 Posted 10 December, 2009 was just going to post his positive comments! Doesn't actually sound too bad in context but certainly would be happy to come away with something - expect a defensive line up? interview on here; http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/8398141.stm
View From The Top Posted 11 December, 2009 Posted 11 December, 2009 I had a nightmare last night when we concided late to lose 3-2.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 11 December, 2009 Posted 11 December, 2009 I had a nightmare last night when we concided late to lose 3-2. Don't worry, it won't happen. I had a dream I was playing for England the other night. Dreams never come true haha
West End Saint Posted 11 December, 2009 Posted 11 December, 2009 Any sort of win would do me we are playing so well but I can't help thinking we are Saints but that was then this is now I have to have faith in AP & the boys so I think 1-0 or 2-1. Come on you Saints keep marching on up that League
View From The Top Posted 11 December, 2009 Posted 11 December, 2009 My 7yo has just beaten TRFC 2-0 on FIFA10 as has therefore predicted that same score tomorrow.
SaintDonkey Posted 11 December, 2009 Posted 11 December, 2009 Paul Rideout Hatrick 0-3 Terrible terrible memories
View From The Top Posted 11 December, 2009 Posted 11 December, 2009 was it on world class though? Professional I believe.
Professor Posted 11 December, 2009 Posted 11 December, 2009 The Brighton result is still inexplicable, because they didn't play particularly well, which is what you'd expect from New Manager Syndrome, but we played poorly. Was it simply over-confidence? Can't see that being repeated and feeling confident of a respectable win by at least 2 clear goals, if not more. With Rickie and David Connolly both in the side the goals just have to be there, and Connolly just gets better week by week.
John B Posted 11 December, 2009 Posted 11 December, 2009 The Brighton result is still inexplicable, because they didn't play particularly well, . Surely that is just football it would be pretty boring if the results were known before the games. I think Man U lost to Burnley this season so really it is not a surprise that occasionally we lose a game . But overall I think we will continue winning a fair share of the games we play
RonManager Posted 11 December, 2009 Posted 11 December, 2009 Brighton 1 Colchester 2, which means we cannot slip back into the relegation zone tomorrow. Irrelevant, I know, as we will win anyway.
John B Posted 11 December, 2009 Posted 11 December, 2009 Brighton 1 Colchester 2, which means we cannot slip back into the relegation zone tomorrow. Irrelevant, I know, as we will win anyway. Not a good result we want the top teams to be losing
RonManager Posted 11 December, 2009 Posted 11 December, 2009 Not a good result we want the top teams to be losing No, indeed, I was rooting for a Brighton equalizer but no luck, but it may relieve a little of any perceived pressure on the team tomorrow.
John Cool Posted 11 December, 2009 Posted 11 December, 2009 Having watched Saints beat Tranny 6-1 in the League Cup a few years back, the same scorline would be cool, but I'm not greedy, 5-1 will be just fine :-)
StDunko Posted 11 December, 2009 Posted 11 December, 2009 No, indeed, I was rooting for a Brighton equalizer but no luck, but it may relieve a little of any perceived pressure on the team tomorrow. I'd be surprised if the team were looking in down the table rather than up. There are three possible results tomorrow: We lose at home. It's a draw. Or the better team on paper, the team further up the table, beat a team that are not expecting to get much out of the game. We should win tomorrow, I think the team have the ability. But most importantly for the first season in memory we have a team that believes that they can win every game and go on the kind of run that pushes the team up the table.
ericofarabia Posted 11 December, 2009 Posted 11 December, 2009 Brighton 1 Colchester 2, which means we cannot slip back into the relegation zone tomorrow. Irrelevant, I know, as we will win anyway. Not a good result we want the top teams to be losing Ummm ....... does this make negative positivism or positive negatism  In the end if we keep winning, eventually we won 't need to worry about other results
Under Weststand Posted 11 December, 2009 Posted 11 December, 2009 (edited) Don't think they will slip up tomorrow like the Brighton game, I'm going for 4-0 Saints. Edited 11 December, 2009 by Under Weststand
Spades Posted 11 December, 2009 Posted 11 December, 2009 my gam tomorrow has been postponed so im hoping to get to the game now.. First saturday game of the season for me. COYR
dubai_phil Posted 12 December, 2009 Posted 12 December, 2009 Will be chasing Hot Wet Chicks around the desert this afternoon, followed by having to "watch" the annual (alleged) lesbian golf chick end of season party... Yep (in reality, this means that) Dubai Ladies Masters golf is on and I'm working, it will be hot and it's been p1ssing down all night and is forecast to stay that way all day, but at least we get some free beer at the end of it. So, won't be near any links to the game. That means it will be a big win by an odd goal again where we should have scored 10 and EoA will spend a fortune on texts updating me (PLEASE). COYS

SO16_Saint Posted 12 December, 2009 Posted 12 December, 2009 i may rue to regret this, but i've just amended my prediction from 2-0 to 4-0 to Saints. COYR!
John B Posted 12 December, 2009 Posted 12 December, 2009 In the end if we keep winning, eventually we won 't need to worry about other results Not if the other teams keep winning too
alehouseboys Posted 12 December, 2009 Posted 12 December, 2009 Will be chasing Hot Wet Chicks around the desert this afternoon... I'll go 4-1 Saints this afty...
Evil Monkey Posted 12 December, 2009 Posted 12 December, 2009 Not if the other teams keep winning too Good point. If every team wins every game between now and the end of the season, we'll finish 15th. That would be unacceptable in my eyes. Pardew would have to go.
mcjwills Posted 12 December, 2009 Posted 12 December, 2009 Went to the companies Xmas dinner last night at the Meon Marriot and as I walked into the hotel, who were walking through the foyer on their way to the restaurant but the Tranmere Rovers squad, suggested to a few of the lads staying the night at the hotel that an accidental setting off of the fire alarm at 4.00am would not harm the lads giving Tranmere a good thrashing today :)
