I would say that his post indicates a certain amount of self reflection and maturing has gone on since he left us, judging by the absence of 'emoticons':D Why was he banned anyway, just to rescue him from self-inflicted ridicule or did he lose it and bite back unacceptably in a thread that I somehow missed? saint_ed Posted 5 December, 2009 Share Posted 5 December, 2009 Elliott Ward, with Trotman going back to PNE (i think pard's has already accepted he's going) A high profile striker, Simeon Jackson, Freddy Sears? (his loan at Palace ends in january afaik) I'd like us to bring in another defensive midfielder - already said it on another thread, but i'd like that Jimmy Abdou guy at Millwall I'd expect us to sign Racon. Charlie Wayman Posted 5 December, 2009 Share Posted 5 December, 2009 Who do you think AP should bring in, or have heard he might bring in! Fire away! Sir David Beckham. CanadaSaint Posted 5 December, 2009 Share Posted 5 December, 2009 I'm going to venture the opinion that we need to think very seriously about buying a quality keeper. Kelvin is at that point when injuries are going to come more frequently, and when the recovery to full match fitness is going to take longer. I loved his loyalty at the start of the season but I'm not sure he's going to be durable or reliable enough to take us into the Championship - and beyond. Bart's psyche is very fragile and we can't afford that in a promotion push. It will be more exploited the higher we go, and it will worsen as the pressure increases. It may not be the "sexiest" expenditure of limited transfer funds but I think it might be one of the wisest.

He would've been a great shout though. Was up there with Lambo & Beckford at the top of the scoring charts last season. I'm still on the Jackson bandwagon, though. disconnect Posted 11 December, 2009 Share Posted 11 December, 2009 Why do people say Freddie Sears?! Been to a couple of Palace matches this season and he's looked pretty poor. Plus, he's been playing quite a lot upfront and NEVER scores! He looks like he's got a little bit of skill, but cant finish and thinks he is better than he actually is. hoozonside10 Posted 11 December, 2009 Share Posted 11 December, 2009 According to the 1st team player who lives next door to my mate (is that too tenuous?) Pardew will have money to spend in January and is primarily looking for another striker. Another strange thing he said is that the team have two Christmas do's - one of them is next week which is for WAGs etc.. and one is in Feb/March - a no-partners do. Apparently last year they went to Dublin for the weekend and just drank for 48 hrs - personally I can't see how they get away with that and wouldn't be too impressed if we are pushing for play-offs next Feb/Mar and do the same kind of thing. Anyway, usual disclaimer, this is all second hand but I do believe it to be true.

Matthew Le Tissier Posted 11 December, 2009 Share Posted 11 December, 2009 (edited) i will get slated for this by the prutton haters. however i feel David prutton would be a great signing. he is only being kept out of the Leeds side as he has had a big falling out with the receptionist ****ger manager. his contract runs out in the summer and is leaving Leeds, possibilities are joining telfer in Australia, he has opted against joining Dallas in the usa and also Brighton is a huge possibility as poyet is a huge fan. i think he would strengthen our squad and bring well needed experience to the club, he has matured allot as a footballer since his dark days of attacking linos and I'm sure recently becoming a farther will have calmed him down a little. That's my opinion. Let the know it alls slating begin as I'm sure some people would deem ronaldo and drogba inadequate for this club. Also to add more fuel to the fire. i have said for years now, Lee Trundle would make a great signing.( dont say hes fat and un fitt as he is clearly not) Both players mentioned i feel would help get us out of league one next season and be compitent squad members in the championship. niceandfriendly Posted 12 December, 2009 Share Posted 12 December, 2009 i will get slated for this by the prutton haters. however i feel David prutton would be a great signing. I always liked Prutts when he played for us, however I've no idea what he's been like for Leeds in recent years. Whenever I've seen him play for Leeds on TV he's looked like he's lost a few yards in pace, and I only ever see him getting booked or sent off. I wouldn't moan if we signed him, I'd more more than happy for us to give him a chance. Don't think he'd get into our first team though. I think he still owns property down here too doesn't he? doddisalegend Posted 12 December, 2009 Share Posted 12 December, 2009 Does no one think we should be signing a rightback? We all seem desperate to sign another striker but it's not like we're short of goals at the moment even the midfield are chipping in with goals this season. Seems to me that defence is where we need some work, I think Murty is class but to injury prone and we have no decent cover for him even with a large squad. supersonic Posted 12 December, 2009 Share Posted 12 December, 2009 With Dean Ashton now unfortunately retired, I think Sears will be back at Upton Park in Jan. Adam Le Fondre would be good, as would Simeon Jackson but prices would be high. I think we need a younger right-back, someone like Ifil who we had on loan from Spurs a few years back (now at Colchester I believe?)
