saintrichmond you always seem to have a negative on saints, look on the bright side occassionaly.

OK

We are rid of Lowe

We have New Owners

We have NO Debt

We now have a good Squad

We are out of the Relegation places

OK so far ???

We are currently 20th

We are more than likely to continue to improve

Still OK ???

BUT, I think, REALISTICALLY, that we have left ourselves too much to do to get into the Top Six this season, and because of that we will have to spend another season in Div 1, and, because of that, I also think we will lose some players and will have to rebuild

That may be negative to you, but, to me, it is a REALISTIC appraisal of the situation as I see it. I would be more than happy to be proven wrong in May 2010

I have a "negative" feel to it because that is how I assess our situation at present:)

I can accept that some players may get offers they can't refuse but most knew that this was a two/three year project and who knows, one or two like Connolly and Murty might even consider they have some loyalty to a manager and club that have shown faith in them.

So I'm hoping for no great exodus, but then again I think we could still go up, so maybe I'm in cloud cuckooland.

Pompey down and in admin, Saints winning a playoff at Wembley - come join me in cloud cuckooland, it's a pleasant place.

I think we'd all start to wonder! If we don't get up next year i'd be at a loss...

Yes, this is a two year plan remember - phase 1 is a two year plan. Players know that and have committed for the two years, as have we fans (as a minimum, for the fans). If we don't look like getting promotion next season, players will justifiably be looking to leave. But at this season, no-one should leave. Hand cuff them. This is a two year plan everyone has signed up to.

the poor start will cost us

not necessarily. We started not just with the -10 deficit, but with a new owner and new manager starting late off the blocks and a shred of the transfer window peeking through the curtains. Forget the first 10 games when we were finding some kind of foothold, look at the recent results and we should be shooting up the table from here on in. Playoffs are still possible imho.
