Minsk Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 Talking to a gooner cabbie on Friday he thought we were still in administration and heading towards another relegation! It really is amazing how much our salvation has been forgotten by the same national press who so reveled in our downfalll. Anyway back to tonight's game. I wouldn't rick Connolly - even if he is fit just stick him on the bench. In a 4-5-1 I think Waigo offers more of a threat than Connolly and I'd like to see James in the holding midfield role. So... Bart Murty Jaidi Trotman Harding James Hammond Scheiderlin Papa Lallana Lambert Bench: Forecast, Connolly/Paterson, Antonio, Thomas, Mills, Wotton, Gobern That's exactly what I would go with for tonight as well.
RonManager Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 (edited) I park in the car park by Jurys Inn opposite the fire station, normally plenty of space there. Ok many thanks And thanks to you, Trousers, as well - I shall head for there. Edited 1 December, 2009 by RonManager
WGC Saint Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 Should be three points tonight against one of the poorest (though improving slowly) sides in the league and a great chance to get out of the bottom 4 and even higher if other results go our way...... So Saints being the team we love and adore and know so well, prepare for another shock defeat ala BHA and another week or two in the drop zone!

My thoughts exactly, I look forward to being proven wrong.
saint_stevo Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 i have gone for a 3-0 win. Lambert, Waigo and Jaidi
ericofarabia Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 The good news is that i can saty up and listen to the commentary tonight (was supposed to be picking friends up at the airport 1am but they have been delayed till 3am). The bad news is I've got some sort of infection of the elbow joint which has swelled up to double normal size and am on anti biotics so no booze  At first I thought I'd had a reaction to a mozzie bite and seeing how much my elbow expanded in size I was thinking about leaving the old man out and see if it would get bitten and swell up like wise It would be churlish to predict anything but 3-1 again tonight I guess.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 I have gone for 4-0 Anything less than the best is a felony
Thorpe-le-Saint Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 Think we'll manage this by hardly showing up again ala Northampton. 2-0 Saints.
dune Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 I'm so confident of us winning this game we'll probably lose...
Arizona Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 Oh, we are being set up for a horrible fall here. Just hope Saints keep their feet on the ground.
itchen_dan Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 I have said 5-1 because somebody, sooner or later, is going to really get a thrashing and Saints never keep a clean sheet!!
krissyboy31 Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 I have said 5-1 because somebody, sooner or later, is going to really get a thrashing and Saints never keep a clean sheet!! Just changed my prediction from 4-0 to 3-1 for that very reason.
Under Weststand Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 I've gone for 2-0 I think it will be harder than we think tonight. Just hope they come out of the blocks firing on all cylinders. Also hope were out of the bottom 4 by 9.45pm tonight.
Nexstar Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 Twice this season numerous people come onto the forum before a game and predict 4 or 5 nil thrashings and Saints to cruise to 3 points. We won't. Those games were Leyton Orient and Brighton.
Cabrone Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 Wycombe will park the bus and try to frustrate us. Got a funny feeling they will score against play but we will come back to just about scrape home with a 2-1 victory (winning goal scored in the dying minutes).

yorkiesaint Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 They will park the bus AND dig a trench behind it. nail biting times ahead methinks
Window Cleaner Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 Wycombe will park the bus and try to frustrate us. Got a funny feeling they will score against play but we will come back to just about scrape home with a 2-1 victory (winning goal scored in the dying minutes). We will score early on from 25 yards, then they'll have to come at us to get even.
Pilchards Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 First up if anyone wants a point against us then they attack us as we can't defend so good as our attacking force. Second up, I don't care about the results of those around us as I want the 2nd - 8th place teams to lose more so we can close the gap more. Going for a nervy 1-0 win with a offside goal from Papa on the 67th minute, plus a mass punch up resulting in 2 sendings off. :-D
oggiee Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 3-2 again I reckon, hope it is a lot easier than that though.
Thedelldays Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 anything other than a win will be a bad result
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 anything other than a win will be a bad result Really:rolleyes:
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 do you not think so..? Yes of course Any dropping of points against the so called "struggling teams" will be a bad result..but not all doom and gloom if we do.
Thedelldays Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 (edited) Yes of course Any dropping of points against the so called "struggling teams" will be a bad result..but not all doom and gloom if we do. it will be....we should not be dropping points and not accept it...I very much doubt pardew does.. ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 it will be....we should not be dropping points and not accept it...I veryt much pardew does.. Surely we have to accept it,nothing else we can do is there really? We are all fans and have to get used to the rough and smooth, disappointed when it`s rough and delighted when it`s not.
scotty Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 Yes of course Any dropping of points against the so called "struggling teams" will be a bad result..but not all doom and gloom if we do. I wonder how many of the sides that "struggling Southampton" took apart over the last dozen or so games have opened veins as a result;)
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 I wonder how many of the sides that "struggling Southampton" took apart over the last dozen or so games have opened veins as a result;) Only on the forums i reckon;)

We are all fans and have to get used to the rough and smooth, disappointed when it`s rough and delighted when it`s not. you know full well what I mean...you are just been pedantic.. I will not (and nor should anyone) be happy if we dont win... and before you slate me....ask yourself if pardew will be happy..? anyway...i think we will win 2-0
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 you know full well what I mean...you are just been pedantic.. I will not (and nor should anyone) be happy if we dont win... and before you slate me....ask yourself if pardew will be happy..? anyway...i think we will win 2-0 Sorry if you took it to be pedantry as it wasn`t meant to be. I won`t be happy if we don`t win either and of course AP won`t be happy will he,managers never are in defeat or home draws against lower teams. 3 nil to us for me. Just wish i was going as normal, but feeling rough for last few days.
scotty Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 Only on the forums i reckon;) lol, true still reckon 2-1 tho, hopefully we'll be out the dropzone by tonight.
Saint Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 The bad news is I've got some sort of infection of the elbow joint which has swelled up to double normal size and am on anti biotics so no booze  ....and the fact that you're driving to pick up your friends?!? Anyway, i'm going to stick with my earlier prediction of 3-1 with Lallana scoring at some point.
corsacar saint Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 Horrible feeling this is going to be very tough. Should win 3-0, or 4-0, but would not be surprised by an upset.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 Wycombe will park the bus and try to frustrate us. Got a funny feeling they will score against play but we will come back to just about scrape home with a 2-1 victory (winning goal scored in the dying minutes). I agree with your thoughts on the Wycombe strategy and they will play to frustrate and look to score from set pieces or on the break. They will be very happy with a draw IMO and play accordingly. Defensively i think we are to strong and even the odd present from Jaidi I still can't see them scoring and I predict a frustrating and slightly boring 2-0 win. A typically cold winter's night game made more challenging if the predicted rain arrives - one of those very rare occassions you are glad you're not a footballer.
Saint_Jonny Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 Score draw tonight I reckon, them coming back to nick a point, just got a bad feeling about it. Dunno why!
John B Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 anyway...i think we will win 2-0 Well if we dont win things will not be that good
dannysfc Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 I'l Be There Tonight Like I Always Am As I Have A ST And I'm Feeling Pretty Confident That Were Going To Win Either 3-0 Or 3-1 And That Other Results Will Go Our Way And That We'l Move Out Of The Bottom 3 But Then Again This Is Saints...! COYR !

Ponty Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 if thats a problem, are the mosquitos likely to spot it anyway?? 2-1 btw They'll smell it.... We'd better win, that's all I'm saying.

Anyway, i'm going to stick with my earlier prediction of 3-1 with Lallana scoring at some point. Obviously that is the main reason for no booze, just thought I'd try and squeeze out a smidgin of sympathy with my infected elbow bit I've gone for 3-1, don't care who scores.

sussexsaint Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 I soooooo want us out of the feckin 'relegation zone' and that's the last time I want to see us in a 'relegation zone for the next 20 years please

Window Cleaner Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 (edited) That's exactly what I would go with for tonight as well. This is exactly right. A chocolate medal to that man. Whoopsy, didn't look closely enough. Oh no not Perry again, he is dump, old slow and dump. Still the rest should be able to carry him, can't think what can possibly be wrong with Trottman. John B Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 correct first 11 except Perry for Trottman, subs Forecast Mills Thomas Wooton Mellis Trottman Antonio We are short of attacking options off the bench
Window Cleaner Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 We are short of attacking options off the bench Never mind that, we are short of defending options on the pitch.

Oh no not Perry again, he is dump, old slow and dump. Still the rest should be able to carry him, can't think what can possibly be wrong with Trottman. Suspect Trotman's not mentally right. May know he's not staying. Or could be AP working on combinations without him. Or has he fallen out with AP?
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 1 December, 2009 Posted 1 December, 2009 We are short of attacking options off the bench What????? Half of the outfield players are attacking
