Installing Windows 7 with new HD

I'm a bit of a numpty when it comes to hard drive partitioning.

 

I'm thinking of installing Windows 7 on my PC but with a new HD (as my current one has more bugs on it than I'm a celebrity). How easy is this?

 

Is it as easy as getting a new HD, attaching it to my PC, booting from the W7 CD and it'll simply partition the HD/install Windows 7 on to it for me?

no partitioning needed - just install the HD and boot the install cd - done and dusted. If you really want to partition then you can do it during the windows install very easily
