scotty Posted 29 November, 2009 Share Posted 29 November, 2009 Maybe my mind deceives me, but weren't you complaining last season when we drew MU in the cup because of the fans reactions? And now you're disappointed we didn't get them? I think Rotherham would be a really tough game, not sure about Luton. At home though we should be confident, I'd definitely be worried if it was away. in the normal sceme of things I'd agree, but given our recent home/away form I'm not as sure. Pleased with the draw tho, we really ought to go through comfortably.

Pat from Poole Posted 29 November, 2009 Share Posted 29 November, 2009 Rotherham likely to bring a few hundred fans Luton will sell out the Northam end (3,000+)? There'd be a lot of idiots within that 3,000 if it is to be Luton. They are one of those clubs that have a potentially decent following numbers-wise, but unfortunately a lot of their floaters are utter ***ts. I have many bitter memories of Luton from the 1980's,in particular that cup tie away c1986.
trousers Posted 29 November, 2009 Share Posted 29 November, 2009 Good draw. I just wanted a home-draw. I'm guessing we'll get Rotheram, and they boast the top scorer of League 2, in Adam Le Fondre. . Fret ye not. If Cortese is as shrewd a business man as he appears, he'll convince Leibherr to splash out a few hundred grand and buy Le Fondre just before the game thus stiffling any threat that Rotherham may have been able to muster. Saints will then make a similar sum of cash from a plum tie in the 4th round so Leibherr ends up net even on the deal. Win-win.
SarniaSaint Posted 29 November, 2009 Share Posted 29 November, 2009 Potential banana skin but should get through. Then Coventry home in round 4.
SarniaSaint Posted 29 November, 2009 Share Posted 29 November, 2009 R3 Chelmsford City (a) 1938-39. Lost 4-1 Old Codger was there amid the 10,741 crowd, ask him about it - our only loss thus far to a non League side in the Cup. That would be since the formation of the 3rd Division South. eh?
Window Cleaner Posted 30 November, 2009 Share Posted 30 November, 2009 Is this a five star way of saying FACT? Not really, it means that if he doesn't score then KPT will have to make reparation to all that lose something (in the loose sense of the word) because of it.So I'm going to chuck 3 million quid on this bloke scoring and if he doesn't well then KP will have to make up the winnings for me. Ooooo Mariaaan Posted 30 November, 2009 Share Posted 30 November, 2009 With this blatantly not going on the TV screens, Sat 3pm looks obvious - however, am I right in thinking that with Portsmouth also at home, one of us will play at a different time? I like your shrewd financial reasoning, but I can't see Rotherham selling him, and definitely NOT to us before the match.

Pompey will only get about 5000 fans at their match, so may as well play them both at the same time.

oxfordshire_saint Posted 30 November, 2009 Share Posted 30 November, 2009 Surely if we play Rotherham and Le Fondre impresses, we have to sign him? With "Le" in the name he'd be a sure-fire hit Shame he's not from the Channel Islands
kpturner Posted 30 November, 2009 Share Posted 30 November, 2009 Is this a five star way of saying FACT?I suspect that there is nobody on here who has the slightest idea what "a five star way" means. Nor do they realise that at the next home game you be saying "Who is this Adam Lafundree anyway?" :axe:
SNSUN Posted 30 November, 2009 Share Posted 30 November, 2009 I trust us this season to get past either team, so as a result I'm going to be ****y and say that I'm looking forward to the 4th round.
