toofarnorth Posted 29 November, 2009 Share Posted 29 November, 2009 (edited) Well after about two weeks of searching through pages of advice, recomendations and countless internet sites I have decided on one of two options. Just cant decide between the two as both seem so good, but if anyone has anything to add that I may be missing about one or the other to sway my decision I would be grateful. http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/-/654/861/-/12038147/Samsung-R520-Pentium-Dual-Core-T4200-2-0GHz-4GB-500GB-DVD-SM-15-6-Windows-7-Home-Premium-Laptop-Notebook/Product.html?searchtype=genre and http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/-/654/861/-/12096955/Hewlett-Packard-Pavilion-DV6-2030SA-AMD-Turion-II-Dual-Core-Mobile-M520-2-3GHz-4GB-320GB-DVD-SM-15-6-Windows-7-Home-Premium-64Bit/Product.html?searchtype=genre Edited 29 November, 2009 by toofarnorth Oops. toofarnorth Posted 29 November, 2009 Author Share Posted 29 November, 2009 Get a vaio, you won't regret it!!! Was told that with a Vaio you are basically paying about £100 extra just because its a Sony. Cant really go above £500 so would have to get a Vaio without dedicated graphics. Clapham Saint Posted 29 November, 2009 Share Posted 29 November, 2009 Was told that with a Vaio you are basically paying about £100 extra just because its a Sony. Cant really go above £500 so would have to get a Vaio without dedicated graphics. I had a Vaio before this machine. It broke once during the warranty. From me first calling them to them collecting, repairing and returning it to me was about 4 days which really impressed me. It broke again (video card I think) a month or so after the warranty ended and they wanted £200 just to look at it. Got a mate to take a look and the cost of finding a replacement card which would fit was through the roof.
