Asaint4ever Posted 28 November, 2009 Posted 28 November, 2009 Dunno if this has been mentioned before but a friend of mine says we are after elliot ward at coventry no source but he knows people of people as in marcus hall. i know of elliot and he a cracking defender just dont fit in with colman's plans. would be a great signing.

I think he was mentioned on this forum recently, but there are also a couple of CCC clubs after him. He's very tall, so would be handy.

Sounds good but i dunno if he is good or not but i heard but my mate said he is and if he is good that is good and that is ****ing amazing if he comes over.
Badger Posted 28 November, 2009 Posted 28 November, 2009 Managed by AP at West Ham,so Pardew would certainly be aware of him.
S-Clarke Posted 28 November, 2009 Posted 28 November, 2009 obviously keeping tabs for January, i expect us to be attracting some decent players in jan.
Dannyboy_Saint Posted 28 November, 2009 Posted 28 November, 2009 A deadly penalty taker as well if im thinking of the right player. Another to add to list of impressive pen takers this season if we get him.
Badger Posted 28 November, 2009 Posted 28 November, 2009 Preston and Sheff Utd linked : http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5721922,00.html PNE taking him might of course free up Trotman.
Arizona Posted 28 November, 2009 Posted 28 November, 2009 I'd be surprised if PNE signed anyone TBH after making a loss of £9m last season.
Matthew Le God Posted 29 November, 2009 Posted 29 November, 2009 Southampton have been linked to him in the press a week ago. http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/coventry-city-fc/football-rumours-gossip/2009/11/20/elliott-ward-being-tracked-by-three-clubs-92746-25212872/
LeBenali Posted 29 November, 2009 Posted 29 November, 2009 Wasn't he their captain a couple of years ago? Would certainly fit the bill IMO.

NickG Posted 29 November, 2009 Posted 29 November, 2009 Solent said Pardew was in foul mood this week after being thwarted in loan market.
VectisSaint Posted 29 November, 2009 Posted 29 November, 2009 Sounds good but i dunno if he is good or not but i heard but my mate said he is and if he is good that is good and that is ****ing amazing if he comes over.
hypochondriac Posted 29 November, 2009 Posted 29 November, 2009 I honestly think he has a boderline mental disorder.
david in sweden Posted 29 November, 2009 Posted 29 November, 2009 I honestly think he has a boderline mental disorder. Funny, I thought that was a basic requirement to become a manager ?
Saint 76er Posted 29 November, 2009 Posted 29 November, 2009 obviously keeping tabs for January, i expect us to be attracting some decent players in jan. I don't think it's been mentioned on here but I did notice that the resident Saints ITK'er on the 606 board has claimed that Pardew has his eyes on Freddie Sears for a Jan swoop. I am guessing that Sears was an up and coming young player when Pards was at WH and might therefore be happy to join him down here. Good signing if so and better quality than we should really expect in L1. On loan at Palace at present but they won't be signing him if a fee is involved as they are battling admin by all accounts. West Ham see him as surplus to requirements apparently, although they may possibly come to regret that as he was always touted as one of their star youngsters...
Badger Posted 29 November, 2009 Posted 29 November, 2009 Sears is at Palace on loan, possibly for the season so that looks like typical 606 nonsense.
Bailey Posted 29 November, 2009 Posted 29 November, 2009 Would be a top-draw signing for us, especially in this division, although if there are CCC teams interested then the odds of him coming here are very slim. As someone has mentioned, if he does go to Preston, then there's more chance that Trotman will either extend his loan spell here or sign for us permanently.
