There was nothing wrong with this thread - but then it was filled up with people disagreeing and making arguments when there shouldn't be any to make.

 

We're in great form, scoring lots of goals and winning lots of games.

 

Seriously, what the bloody hell is there to moan about?

Maybe you see it as harmless but there again maybe you don't "see" too deep.

i wasn't, no.

 

but we won, if we play crap and still win - so what? we're not going to be perfect every week.

 

At the end of the day, if we were playing fantastic..and loosing, I'd be more concerned.

Sadly posts like the ones Fitzhugh Fella have made above drag the whole thing back down and make it as annoying as most of the other ones here.

 

Of course it was a harmless thread and some of us enjoyed seeing it. Let it go.

The original post is a simple list of results and can in no legitimate way be seen as baiting. Also, I clearly said, "All of you", in my post so any inference that I was directing that at you, or "your side", is all your own doing.

Absolutely not. It is a handy form guide, a quick reference. I think it bizarre that people can get wound up over it.

it did start off as harmless, it's only become this argument because of yourself and others getting worked up about it.

 

i go back to what i said previously...if you don't want to see it, you don't have to look at it.

Complete and utter made up rubbish. Do you just ignore the posts where we state that we do not believe that everything is rosy? Do you ignore the posts which state that we realise that saints have weaknesses and problems in their game? You do realise I have been to almost every game this season right? I can see perfectly well that there are areas for improvement but no you will ignore this post and continue to peddle the myth that NickG and myself are blinkered and happy clappy. You are wrong and you would do well to recognise that.

I really am quite amused/bemused by your apparent obsession to turn this whole forum into a bunch of happy clappies. Sorry mate, but like Chapel End Charlie I will make my own my mind up on the Saints by what I see on the pitch and post accordingly.

 

That's possibly the most amusing comment you have come out with seeing as you have gone on and on about how the fans now have no say whilst I have consistently told you that the fans are not idiots and that they understand the concept of private ownership.

It has really come to something when we are arguing about THIS form by a Saints team.

 

"Saints can't stop winning"

"Stop point that out"

"Get behind the team FFS!"

"Get behind misleading statistics FFS!"

"It doesn't matter if we kepe winning, we're winning ****ly!"

 

Personally I'm delighted we are winning matches. It may not always be pretty, but Stoke made a decent fist of getting into and staying in The Prem with one great big hoof-fest.

Saturdays match may not have been "total football", but when are cup ties against League 2 sides EVER classic. Every year we get a third round tie between a Prem side and a lower league side on TV. There is occasionally an upset, but scarcely is there a great display of football.

 

You can only beat what's put infront of you. We may have been lethargic but we did it. It was pretty comfortable despite the score line. The o.g. was a fluke and I think we'd just switched off by the time pen was conceded.

I can remember last season when we were playing some fantastic football and then losing, there were certain posters on here making statements of how they "wouldn't care if we were playing sh*t every week and winning" ala Derby 06/07.

Why are the same posters STILL moaning? A wins a win, and all that.

Form is a measure over time, not from one game.

 

Christ, after the last few years how can you not be pleased with the results ???

 

Some people (and it is aimed at many posters nobody in particular) need to take their heads out of their assh*les.

 

Oh and BTW, we won Sat, end of.

I don't know whether I should respond but I will.

 

I am not going to comment on the particularly comments made by two posters on this thread but hopefully this general comment will reassure them.

 

The only "agenda" I had posting these form summaries is that I cannot remember such a run for a long time. The league table makes for depressing reading still but this shows that at least the last couple of months have had excellent results.

 

I enjoy seeing these results.

 

There have been numerous comments from others on these threads saying the same.

 

There was no subliminal message.

 

I do not think all is rosy.

 

We are in relegation zone of league 1!

 

The team is not perfect and I am far from convinced this form will continue - another reason for enjoying it while it lasts?

 

I do not think we will win the FA Cup.

 

I do not think we will make play offs this season - although it is certainly possible.

 

I genuinely do believe that you should be able to enjoy a run such as our current one - if not why support saints? You only live once and I know lots of happy people who don't follow football - if you can't get pleasure from this sort of run when will you?

 

I am not going to answer the personal insults except to say why get so up tight and personal, on a forum for fellow saints fans when several are just trying to appreciate a good run?

REally, I do think that, despite reservations about the team, and FF's reservations about the ownership stucture, this ought to be a time for looking at positives.

 

I haven't enjoyed much of the last 5 years, so at the moment I am enjoying a decent run of results, and watching Lallana/ Lambert etc.I still have my head in my hands watching some of our defending, but when didn't we?Perhaps as Saints fans we just have to put the Dodd/Claus/ Killer/ Bridge years down as an aberration !!

 

Hoping the last 13 games thread looks good tonight.........

Indeed. I really think some people need to relax and unwind and stop being so flipping hysterical about a few people taking pleasure in our recent run of results.

[bTW, I love looking at the list in the OP, it's superb to see us in such good form, but I can't help but feel that there is an attempt to rub it in the faces of the 'negatives'. If this is just a 'handy form guide' surely a 'last 13 games' thread will be started irrespective of tonight's result?]

Well if they do I'll want my fiver back. You don't pay money for something that you later get taken away from you. Especially when it's a forum for crying out loud. Like I said in the infraction thread on TMS, we have a right to freedom of speech...why should we pay a fiver to have that right taken away from us? It's not like I've been racist or anything that I could be prosecuted for.
