This is the same Colchester that beat Norwich 7-1 on the opening day of the season.

One team has to go through in a cup tie and the only way you can do that is win your tie no matter how you do it so yes we did beat Torquay otherwise we would not have played Charlton in the next round

I would suggest that coming into a club which, on three well documented occasions, had almost folded, and which had seen its few older professionals and many youth team players, who had been promoted too early to the first team, have the stuffing well and truly knocked out of them by Lowe, Poortvliet, that mysterious Dutch agent and Wotte......was a far worse situation to inherit than what Boothroyd picked up.

 

But so many people seem content to ignore the bleeding obvious and bang on about our situation, when AP turned up, being similar to X club or Y club. Sorry, you are wrong; it simply wasn't.

 

I don't really want to contribute to what seems to have turned into a massive ****ing contest about one person proving themselves 'correct' over another in terms of what SFC might / could / should have done in the first ten games or whatever; all rather tedious really, and entirely moot, to boot.

 

We are where we are, we're winning games, the ethos around the club is starting to change and things are looking up. I am sincerely glad you enjoy it, I do myself but I temper my joy with caution, especially when the performance has not been that great.

 

Neither of our "approaches" are right or wrong but we must both be allowed to counter each other's opinions without insult or wind ups or it is bound to get personal.

I to see the flaws in our performances and think we need to improve/strengthen to make us the true force in this division - but that doesn't diminish from the pleasure I have at seeing a 12 game run like this - the likes of which I can't remember for a long time.

First you advise me to get a new 'hobby' (telling that you regard supporting this great club as a mere hobby) and now you instructing me on what this forum is for . When exactly did your promotion come through ?

 

I'll return the favour and give you some free advice - you would be better of concentrating on putting your own opinion across rather than telling others how they should support their club and engaging in tiresome little mind games on here . You are aware I hope that most of us on here do take a interest in SFC (some of us even go to matches you know) and thus are well informed of it results even without your massively obvious contribution ?

 

Now I'm more than happy to continue this as long as you like but please be aware I might have to break off every now and then as I have rather more pressing matters on my plate at the moment than you .
