paulwantsapint Posted 24 November, 2009 Posted 24 November, 2009 Neal Trottman has just been booked to get banned from playing but is he clever & knows that ban will be served while cup tied ( stopped by preston) or will he miss game after cup?
Saints Mad Si Posted 24 November, 2009 Posted 24 November, 2009 Not to sure how that works will be interesting to find out, good planning if it works out right!
saint lard Posted 24 November, 2009 Posted 24 November, 2009 He misses the cup game according to Solent
aintforever Posted 24 November, 2009 Posted 24 November, 2009 Surely the details of his loan contract are just between Saints and Preston? Under FA rules he was eligible to play on saturday before his ban.
saint-luco Posted 24 November, 2009 Posted 24 November, 2009 should be the cup game, but the league will put a stop to this loophole and deduct another 10 points, they will then get some smarmy nobody to anounce it on ssn saying there is no grounds for appeal
Sold To The Man @ The Bar Posted 24 November, 2009 Posted 24 November, 2009 If he is going back in Jan and the next round is 2nd of Jan, PNE could allow him to play in the FA cup for us, we could then drop him from Sat game as he is banned .. thus serving his 1 match ban !! Simples
wild-saint Posted 24 November, 2009 Posted 24 November, 2009 He has to be banned from the cup game. IF preston recalled him this week he wouldnt be able to play. Its only an agreement between the clubs not the Footy league
derry Posted 24 November, 2009 Posted 24 November, 2009 Solent retracted that when they realised he is not allowed to play in the FA cup. It seems certain he will miss the Wycombe game next Tuesday.
Whitey Grandad Posted 25 November, 2009 Posted 25 November, 2009 For him to have been eligible to play on Saturday, Saints would need to receive written permission from his club by 12:00 on Friday.Perhaps they could give this permission knowing that he would be banned anyway? I can't find anything about the yellow card disciplinary procedure and when that takes effect however.
AndyNorthernSaints Posted 25 November, 2009 Posted 25 November, 2009 Thomas will be decent cover if needed.
Toomer Posted 25 November, 2009 Posted 25 November, 2009 On Solent this morning PNE were going to let him play.
Saint_John Posted 25 November, 2009 Posted 25 November, 2009 On the FA web site http://www.thefa.com/TheFA/Disciplinary/SuspensionLists.aspx Southampton FC Neal Trotman (Start date) 24/11/2009 Suspended from all first team football until the Club have completed 1 first team match for 5/10/15 cautions As I suggested on the 8th Nov (after Whitey Grandad corrected me over the removal of the 7 day rule) :- http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?p=498648#post498648

According to the wording on the FA site, it does not matter if he is eligible to play on Saturday or not.
Ivan Katalinic's 'tache Posted 25 November, 2009 Posted 25 November, 2009 http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/p/preston/8376305.stm Preston centre-half Mawene picked up an injury on Monday night. Maybe this was why Alan Irvine was watching us - to see how Trotman's getting on, with a view to having him back?

OVER THE HILL Posted 26 November, 2009 Posted 26 November, 2009 If in January Trotman goes back to PNE and Wayne Thomas moves on as his contract finishes then we could see Olly in the team again:o
