Scummer Posted 15 September, 2008 Posted 15 September, 2008 I may have got this wrong, as I was suffering a bit from the night before, but for their first goal didn't they have a player who stood off the pitch and then ran back into play as the ball came across? Isn't this against the rules?

Isn't this against the rules? Yeah I thought that the rules stated if you leave the pitch delibratley you should wait to be let back on or be offside but then I also thought that if you stand 2 yards beyond the last def at set peice you were off side but hey I aint the ***T in black or whatever colour they wear these days
JustMike Posted 30 September, 2008 Author Posted 30 September, 2008 just thought id bump this thread up again. World class tonight.
puff the magic dragon Posted 30 September, 2008 Posted 30 September, 2008 You've got to have respect for Kelvin Davies for weathering the boo boys and proving himself.
Micky Posted 30 September, 2008 Posted 30 September, 2008 just thought id bump this thread up again. World class tonight. Lets just hope that Kelvin is here for the whole of the season though - if he continues to play as he has done recently it won't go unnoticed by the gathering 'vultures'. In our current financial state we will find it hard to ward off even the most speculative of offers for our performing players.

Crab Lungs Posted 30 September, 2008 Posted 30 September, 2008 two years ago, I'd have never have thought this thread would exist. two years ago, I'd never have imagined people referring to KD as "god" ! Fair play for KD for turning it around. I'm actually thinking that maybe now that he's busier he's more switched on, he's having to concentrate more maybe... which has obviously improved his performances... and we're now seeing his true value.
saintsforlife7 Posted 30 September, 2008 Posted 30 September, 2008 Even claimed a cross, seems that with people behind him(Northam) his confidence is flying and we are seeing the best of him at the moment
simo Posted 1 October, 2008 Posted 1 October, 2008 Looks like he has got in the groove again top quality at the moment! (and yes i did slate him before and let him know at Eastleigh last season but had a bit of banter about it with him at West brom and i eat my words now)
OldNick Posted 1 October, 2008 Posted 1 October, 2008 he was always a good keeper. Its just fans perception has changed. He came to us on the back of a load of Sunderland fans blaming him after they were relegated. His confidence was a bit low and yes he made a couple of clangers, but even then he was making saves to get us points. I hope now he will carry on how he has performed. Keep that phone switched off Kelvin
Iowsaintsfan Posted 1 October, 2008 Posted 1 October, 2008 Well done Kelvin you have worked hard and proved alot of people wrong (myself Included)
Pompeyh8r Posted 1 October, 2008 Posted 1 October, 2008 Absolutely world class save last night when 1-0 up and Perry played a loose square ball across the back. People who were not there will read paper reports and they don't always do the unsung heroes justice. For me Davis was man of the match just shading Lallana. He is close to being the Keeper he was at Ipswich, before his ill fated move to Sunderland. I agree with this post thoroughly, thankyou KD you have well and truly won over the saints fans, and your praise is throughly deserved.
