JustMike Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 id just like to say thanks for keeping the score today down to just 4 and to say sorry for slagging you off in the past. You seemed to be the only one out there that cared today.
saint.tom.clancy Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 Ye kept us in it first half, nobody else gave a sh!t
mitch01 Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 I dont think its a case of the others not caring, more that some of them just arent good enough.
OldNick Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 the players care just a case of inexperience.

Micky Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 Problem is - if he continues to get 'worked' every game, performs every game - then somebody will be in for him too... yet another seasoned pro off the books...
Micky Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 davefoggy said: at fault for first goal Yeah right... you do have a problem with KD don't you...!! No doubt you think he should of saved and held Blackstocks shot...
Saint for ever Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 Superb set of saves, did not deserve to concede four.
davefoggy Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 anything in 6 yard box should be keepers ball, he had time to claim it apart from that, he had a really excellent game

I had cited him as a weak point in the past after one or two of his mistakes but the honest point is he has been immense for us so far this season and at the end of the day all keepers make mistakes.
graemeread1234 Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 The defence was so shocking today, but Kevlin did alright. Why dont they just HOOOOOOOF the ball out when its in our penalty area. Its not hard, even I can do it. HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOF
ALWAYS_SFC Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 Hats off to Kelvin today...brilliant!!!! Bloody good job he was too.

davefoggy Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 KD looks like he cares this season, kept the score down for sure....but you just can't gift the opposition with a goal like that after 37 secs perry should have started. JP tactics were awful today
paulwantsapint Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 Hope KD gives that inept C#@% of a desistant ref ( lines t*&t ) a good hard kick up the arse for allowing 2nd goal even though it was at least a whole yard offside Will enjoy watching rest of season to see if all debutants are sent off 4 inexperienced foul think yellow with warning of any other stupid foul & off ( plus KD rant ) would have made OL learn a bigger leason
saintstr1 Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 With no central defence in front of him KD was outstanding today , What I cant get why play two boys in central defence both making there debuts , Surely Perry should have been on along with Cork or even Wotton & Perry. Lancashire & Cork was a suicidal pairing from JP ,He better wise up soon or it will all be to late.
Dicko Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 KD is our best goalie by a country mile. Unfortunately, he's gonna get lots of practice this season because our defence is awful
alpine_saint Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 Davis is doing enough to get himself a Prem contract and out of this hole in January. I wouldnt be surpised if that's what's motivating him at the moment.
Isla Wight Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 Played very well today and pleased that Kelvins distribution has improved

Glasgow_Saint Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 He did ok - at fault for goals 1,3 and 4 thou! Could have been 1-1 with a better keeper

JustMike Posted 14 September, 2008 Author Posted 14 September, 2008 davefoggy said: at fault for first goal sorry mate but you are wrong. The ball has been bundled into the box via a long throw. We had 2 players marking each other at the point of the flick on, one of them should have done better. If he had have come for it he would have had to go through 10 ish players to get it, no chance.

His distribution was first class today, just the crosses to deal with now.
Under Weststand Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 I have criticised him in the past but he was immense for us today made quite a few outstanding saves to keep us in the game for as long as he did, and as for the first goal that was down to the defence all going awol, there was no way he could or should have come for the cross in that situation & to suggest otherwise is just plain ludicrous.
trousers Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 He's always been a good shot stopper. That's what kept us in the game for 60 mins. However, I don't let his excellent shot stopping skills cloud my less favourable view of his positional play when it comes to dealing with balls played into the box from a distance. If he was the complete package then he wouldn't be playing for us. My balanced view aside, still a superb performance though.
dubai_phil Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 Amongst the doom and gloom, his underarm rolled ball out of the box that led to our goal showed a big change in anything we've seen from a Saints team for a long time. I worry it may be our only highlight this season but it was a peach, thought at first that KD felt so old surrounded by the kids that he'd taken up Bowls or something Quality performance today
sfcmick Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 Great game today, without him QPR would have won by at least 8-1. the first goal was no way his fault just total crap defending. You lousy supporters keep blaming this guy have any of you actually played this game , what was he supposed to do to stop the first goal, it should have been dealt with by a defender but they had all moved to far to the right. Get off his case and thank your lucky stars he is still a saints player.

Huffton Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 My initial reaction was that he could have done better for the first goal, but having seen it from a better angle the ball is moving away from his line so coming for it would have been the wrong decision. The defence was shocking and left the poor bloke totally exposed.
JustMike Posted 14 September, 2008 Author Posted 14 September, 2008 rpb said: You have correctly apologised to Kelvin - now you should apologise for your last comment... why? it was true. He was the only one that appeared to give a toss.
Papa Shango Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 Been critical of him in the past, but fair play to him, he's been brilliant so far this season.
rpb Posted 14 September, 2008 Posted 14 September, 2008 JustMike said: why? it was true. He was the only one that appeared to give a toss. Sorry but that is pathetic! I watched ten blokes play controlled football against a very good QPR team and stay in the game until until the last ten minutes and even then they were still trying to go forward and score a goal. How many shots did we have on goal today? I don't know the final tally but with five minutes left it was 14 - the same as QPR; hardly a case of not 'giving a toss'.

Very good qpr team?? no, we just made them look that way. Its all well and good having nice touches here and there and glimpse of brilliance when the rest of the time your giving the ball away too cheaply and defending as we did.

I know he will make mistakes as the season goes on but name me a keeper who doesnt f### up? Wright made some howlers 2 games in a row for Ipswich, and as he has only just gone bacdk I suspect they have fans who dont rate him. We are fortunate to have a quality keeper in KD and its about time you gave him credit and take your blinkers off.

I don't particularly disagree with that (apart from saying it was the same QPR team we beat 3 - 0 last season - anybody could have beaten them on that day, they were in mourning!) - I don't think you can equate naive and inexperienced defending with 'not giving a toss' though.

Probably considered "out muscled" but if that had been the other way around I wonder if it'd have been a penalty. More dodgy refereeing.
