Arizona Posted 21 November, 2009 Posted 21 November, 2009 I know Pardew has stated Saga has no Saints future and neither of them really look up to first team standard, but surely we should have one of them on the bench. The subs today included Thomas, Perry and Murty, but no strikers. If anything happens to DC or Rickie, we pretty much have to revert to one up front. Either that or move Lallana forward and move things around in midfield.
S-Clarke Posted 21 November, 2009 Posted 21 November, 2009 I think saga has burned his bridges here, pard's confirmed as much in the echo - he'll never play for us again. Pato is still learning, he really should go out on loan IMO - it would be perfect for him, as he isn't good enough for us yet.
Alanh Posted 21 November, 2009 Posted 21 November, 2009 Papa Waigo was the attacking option. It's not a question of whether Saga's good enough, it's all about whether he wants to play and judging by AP's comments in the press the answer is no. Pato should have been on the bench IMO.
Arizona Posted 21 November, 2009 Author Posted 21 November, 2009 I'd have though Waigo was more the wide option. Granted he can play up front too, but my point is why do we have three defenders on the bench, but no out and out striker.
Block 5 Posted 21 November, 2009 Posted 21 November, 2009 Patterson has nothing to give us yet. He NEEDS a season on loan in league 2 to stand any chance of coming to fruition.
peacey Posted 23 November, 2009 Posted 23 November, 2009 Were signing Warren Feeney in jan apprantly as a replacement for saga.... [from the media]
Saint Posted 23 November, 2009 Posted 23 November, 2009 I don't understand why Paterson hasn't gone out on loan yet. I don't rate him and he needs some first team experience. Feeney looks promising.
the saint in winchester Posted 23 November, 2009 Posted 23 November, 2009 Wasn't there a thread last week that suggested Patta was lined up for a loan move but he declined to go, saying he felt he was better served training with our players and occasionally getting on for us (competing for a place). Sounds like most of you would prefer him to go out on loan?
sotonswan Posted 23 November, 2009 Posted 23 November, 2009 Were signing Warren Feeney in jan apprantly as a replacement for saga.... [from the media] No idea of the truth of this, but he did a decent job on loan at Swansea in League 1. Wages itro 8k/wk and his wife is a Bournemouth girl I do believe.

I think he has potential to be a good player but is not at the level we require at the moment.

Sounds like most of you would prefer him to go out on loan? Fair enough I suppose. If he has the ability and just needs games under his belt then a loan move would be good. Sounds like he knows he still has much to learn and will learn more staying here learning off others that are better. He might be setting his sights a little high as with Lambert and DC his chances are very slim to get a game but if he can learn from them he will be a better player. Saga himself has been looking for a club for ages so got frozen out of the 1st team. If he was good enough he would have got the games under his belt too but he isnt so wont. When Adebeyor wanted out of Arsenal he still got a game every week because he still trained and put 100% in when on the pitch. They had other options but proffesionally he was still doing the business so still got games. Saga on the other hand is training to find another club and thats about it.

When you say Saga has burned his bridges here it suggests that Saga has done something to hasten his departure (aside from not perform on the pitch) but in the Echo Pardew said that the player's attitude had been fine, he jsut wasn't going to figure here. Has something gone on behind the scenes?
ericofarabia Posted 24 November, 2009 Posted 24 November, 2009 Saga and Pato  Maybe it's because of the crap abbreviated names they've been given. Rickies drop in form seems to have coincided with The Pink calling him Lambo
ribbo Posted 24 November, 2009 Posted 24 November, 2009 could it be that AP wants saga off the wagebill to free up room for other players? I was under the impression NC limits AP to a squad wage limit and if so then shifting a high earning saga who isnt featuring is a quick win to get in someone AP thinks could add to the squad.
Rasiak-9- Posted 24 November, 2009 Posted 24 November, 2009 Forget about signing strikers lets sort out the bloody defence!
