if its one player that needs to get their act together its Trotman. He is lucky to have Jaidi with him or we would ship more goals. His positioning is not good enough and if Pardew is to sign anyone in Jan it should be a decent CB with a bit of pace.

 

Not many of those around at League One level, unless Liebherr is willing to part with some serious cash.

I think it's a good point that some of our current team appear to be in a 'comfort zone'. Personally, the one postion that really worries me is centre half. Jaidi appears to be undroppable and unfortunately i think he knows it. Not convinced at all by him and i'm surprised as i thought he would have been our signing of the season. Hopefully his performances will pick up over the next couple of months. If not i'd look at bringing in another centre back in January.

 

To say that Davis isn't good enough for League 1 is completely laughable though. He has saved our bacon time after time over the last year or two making save after save. Today he could have done better with their 2nd but calling for him to be replaced after one very small error is totally ridiculous!

 

As for Lloyd James, i'm surprised he gets so much abuse. He has been played totally out of position and in my opinion has done a pretty decent job on the whole. I see him playing a crucial part in our late season run for the play offs in a defensive midfield role. That is his main position and when he has played there he has looked just what we're lacking. Calm head, composed and a wonderful right foot. He's also a great assist on set pieces which are crucial in any standard of football.

 

I really am confused with all this negativity. We had a great run during October and we never going to carry on winning every game. We've got a great new owner, finally a good manager who has brought in some exciting players. On the whole, we have played some cracking football and can still get in the play offs with a good late season run. Despite a disappointing couple of results, i am loving being a saints fan at the minute. So much to enjoy and FINALLY we have so much to look forward to.

James is our stand out worst player, he cant defend or attack cant cross and generally looks lost. He has been at fault for 7 or 8 goals we have conceded this season including two yesterday. For the pen he shouldn't have let the attacker get goal side and the second he lost the ball in front of goal, he strikes me as a player who never wants the ball. Seems a bit dazed when he gets it. Dont even get me started on his sh*t set pieces.

KD massively overated on this forum. Good shot stopper but no command of his area, flaps at crosses and does not instil confidence. And he makes more mistakes than most. Sorry not a fan!
