iansums Posted 21 November, 2009 Posted 21 November, 2009 I was lucky enough to be in the MLT suite today with seats for the game just behind the directors box. It was very interesting to se some familar faces. Mick Channon, Francis Benali, Killer. But I was most surprised to see Mark Wotte.
Whitey Grandad Posted 21 November, 2009 Posted 21 November, 2009 Markus there today? I could't see him. The two seats at the front of the directors' area were empty.
iansums Posted 21 November, 2009 Author Posted 21 November, 2009 Markus there today? Only saw the back of his head but yes, I'm sure it was him. Shouted "let's be havin ya" in German to Delia!! Nice to see him at so many games. Oh and Mrs Cortese looks even more lovely close up
Whitey Grandad Posted 21 November, 2009 Posted 21 November, 2009 Oh and Mrs Cortese looks even more lovely close up How close?
iansums Posted 21 November, 2009 Author Posted 21 November, 2009 How close? Steady on Grandad!! Not that close.
Huffton Posted 21 November, 2009 Posted 21 November, 2009 Oh and Mrs Cortese looks even more lovely close up Rule 1! Is she a patch on Mrs Licka though?
Morph Posted 21 November, 2009 Posted 21 November, 2009 Markus there today? Yes, but he turned up late. Just before half time. Flight delayed I would suggest. Regards Morph
Morph Posted 21 November, 2009 Posted 21 November, 2009 Also noticed Stuart Gray was there with notebook. Suggest scouting for his old club, Northampton. .

Conducted himself very professionally and in extreme circumstances if you ask me during hsi time as manager and his treatment in the end was a tad shoddy but at least he did ok out of it financially allegedly. If Mark Wotte can enjoy a game at SMS makes you wonder about the great McMenemy and just how the big the 'bitterest pill' is? Lets hope he swallows it soon and pays his money and follows the fine example of Wotte sometime soon.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 21 November, 2009 Posted 21 November, 2009 Also noticed Stuart Gray was there with notebook. Suggest scouting for his old club, Northampton. . Hopefully none of the team that play next Saturday were on the pitch today unless he watched the subs have a session after the game.
RonManager Posted 21 November, 2009 Posted 21 November, 2009 I thought Mick Channon looked well, certainly lost some weight around the face, back to that 'craggy look'. Unfortunately because of the crap PA system (a few speakers at the back of the stands would sort it), I could'nt make out much of what he was saying, but great to see him nonetheless.

Made me smile when he said his second greatest moment was winning the League cup for Norwich. Watching the tumble weed drift from the Northam in proverbial silence was quite funny. True diplomat and love him all the more for it. Mick Channon the greatest? I think so.

Apart from Bobby Stokes' immortal moment, my most memorable goal is Mick's run, shot and goal from the halfway line against Coventry way back when.

I doubt that and supporters sitting at the back of the stands next to a speaker would not be too keen either. We have had extra speakers on the ground behind the goal at the Chapel end for a few seasons now, but you still cannot hear what is being said.
macthesaint Posted 22 November, 2009 Posted 22 November, 2009 Yeah I saw Stuart Gray before the match. Did Northampton sack him as a coach? I too thought he may be scouting for them ahead of next week,if so,he must be short on work to help out the team that just sacked him.
wild-saint Posted 22 November, 2009 Posted 22 November, 2009 You really can't help yourself can you? Do you honestly believe Wotte bought his own ticket? Well I have seen wotter at about 4 games this season and not all in the diredctors box so yes I think he probably did buy his own ticket.
Whitey Grandad Posted 22 November, 2009 Posted 22 November, 2009 You really can't help yourself can you? Do you honestly believe Wotte bought his own ticket? I thought everybody had to buy their own ticket under the new regime?

When we first moved to St Mary's it was quite clear but it seemed to change to unintelligible a season ago, or two.
Redondo Saint Posted 22 November, 2009 Posted 22 November, 2009 I thought everybody had to buy their own ticket under the new regime? I really can't believe that ex managers and players write a cheque to SFC. I've no doubt they are paid for, but more like by a corporate sponsor.

ALWAYS_SFC Posted 22 November, 2009 Posted 22 November, 2009 I supose we shouldnt have any sour grapes and all that but... get lost Wotte. Absolutlely....he is hanging around like a bad smell... Obviously can`t get a job elsewhere, maybe something do to with him being a crap coach.

4737_carlin Posted 22 November, 2009 Posted 22 November, 2009 I thought everybody had to buy their own ticket under the new regime? Nah that was a load of PR bull****e
Nineteen Canteen Posted 22 November, 2009 Posted 22 November, 2009 You really can't help yourself can you? Do you honestly believe Wotte bought his own ticket? Can't stop myself highlighting an interesting assessment between two ex-Saints managers? No I suppose I can't in this relevant case, and IMO like a few others I firmly believed Wotte bought a seat although I doubt he wrote a cheque and no doubt he is more than comfortable with chip and pin.

Who's going to break the news to flashdance that mick is a huge lowe critic ?
Whitey Grandad Posted 23 November, 2009 Posted 23 November, 2009 Nah that was a load of PR bull****e My understanding was based on a cryptic comment in the Daily Mail early in the season about a former manager who was astonished that he was asked to cough up for a ticket.
