Arizona Posted 19 November, 2009 Share Posted 19 November, 2009 Assuming money is no object (it is, but let's assume it isn't) what's the best value for money HDMI cable out there. I've seen them on eBay for £1.50 and I've seen them in Curry's for £100 plus. Obviously there is going to be a difference in quality, how noticeable is it? Anyone had good/bad experiences or can reccomend a model?
saint_stevo Posted 19 November, 2009 Share Posted 19 November, 2009 A mate paid £35 for one, i paid £7. There is no noticable difference between them
Saint_clark Posted 19 November, 2009 Share Posted 19 November, 2009 I paid £20 for one, but don't be fooled - there is NO difference between differently priced cables. I saw one in Currys going for £60 - if what you say about them being over £100 is true then that is f*cking ridiculous. I saw them going for a fiver in the Gamestation down here in Weymouth. Saint_Jonny Posted 19 November, 2009 Share Posted 19 November, 2009 Digital signal so the cable quality is FAR less important than in say an old school SCART cable or even a component HD cable. Dont spend £3 on one but at the same time I wouldnt spent more than...20 quid? Really no point, the digital signal just doesn't warrant a super high quality cable, it will look the same regardless. mdearlove Posted 20 November, 2009 Share Posted 20 November, 2009 £3 is plenty to spend - as HDMI is digital it makes no difference in signal quality. If the bits get through then the picture will be the same on a cheap one or an expensive one. I bought one for £3 to go with my HD media player and the signal quality is superb. ALWAYS_SFC Posted 20 November, 2009 Share Posted 20 November, 2009 During my sky hd install i asked the engineer about getting a so called "better HDMI lead" and he said don`t waste your money as it won`t make any difference just stick with the cheap supplied one. Price makes no difference.
