scaramanga Posted 19 November, 2009 Share Posted 19 November, 2009 the pirates have signed one of the hotest prospects in years....world under 21 champion Darcy Ward. Great signing and will link up well with fellow aussie and good mate Chris Holder http://www.poolespeedway.net/09-website/news.php
chrisobee Posted 19 November, 2009 Share Posted 19 November, 2009 Good, after nearly getting dragged into the relegation play off let's hope next season is better. Chris Holder was excellent this season, not sure of the stats but was probably Poole's best rider.
itchen_dan Posted 19 November, 2009 Share Posted 19 November, 2009 What an excellent signing by Ford and obviously realised he made a right mess of last years team!! Cant wait for March now to get back down there and hopefully see another League Winning Pirates Team!!
bungle Posted 20 November, 2009 Share Posted 20 November, 2009 Was very impressed with that signing, and there are still rumours around that Zorro might be back. On the Poole website I notice it says "a familiar face to return"...

bungle Posted 26 November, 2009 Share Posted 26 November, 2009 Davey Watt returns to Poole. That's Holder, Watt, Ward & Madsen so far. Would still expect to see Bjarne back, especially as his average is lower than usual after a poor season. Am sure he will bounce back. Then probably Doyle as well. Not sure who would be the 7th rider. And Gary Havelock will be the #8.
Huffton Posted 27 November, 2009 Share Posted 27 November, 2009 Bjarne has to be an absolute steal on that false average, and with Watt now named as captain Bjarne may find his old form again. Don't know if Havvy will get too many meetings but it would be ace to see him round Wimborne rd again, reckon he could still teach a few pf the youngsters a thing or two! Team is shaping up very nicely indeed, hopefully if we can steer clear of last seasons injury nightmare I can see a very successful season for the Pirates.
