bridge too far Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 has cancer, apparently http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/8363705.stm Poor guy. (Mods I thought this was pertinent to the Saints page, given his non-interest in us but please move to an appropriate venue if necessary).
Whitey Grandad Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 Good luck to him and all the other sufferers out there. It just brings home to you the importance of health and happiness.
Master Bates Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 Cancer's spread through my family past few months. Get well soon.

Langleysaint Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 Finished my Chemo 24th of Dec last year after a second bout of Hodgkins ,best wishes and goodluck Paul.
John B Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 Yes having loads of money is OK but having good health is probably better. Hope Paul gets better soon but pleased he did not take us over

Very sad, especially pertinent after similar news for my own father (who has a short timescale due to his condition). My heart goes out to Paul, his family and friends. Good luck!
Noodles34 Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 Can we wish Dave Coakes well too with his cancer treatment, thanks.

(Mods I thought this was pertinent to the Saints page, given his non-interest in us but please move to an appropriate venue if necessary). Sad news indeed. His 'involvement' in Saints c.April/May 2007 is a period of Saints history that will stay with me for a long time - many a happy evening hunting down his boats and planes! And, from what Cortese said in the press a few months ago, it was the Allen 'story' that first alerted him to our football club. So, in a small, indirect, 'butterfly in bangkok' way, mr Allen helped saved our club. Good luck Sir
EastleighSoulBoy Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 God will him the fortitude currently being exhibited by my Mum.
brmbrm Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 Non-Hodgkins lymphoma is beatable, so good luck Paul
hypochondriac Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 My grandma has terminal lymphoma so I know how he feels
Saintandy666 Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 Hope that he can pull through this, he'll no doubt get the best care that money can buy so hopefully will be fine.
Big John Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 God bless anyone with any type of cancer. A cruel disease that knows no bounds and recognises not status nor riches. God bless.

SaintRobbie Posted 18 November, 2009 Posted 18 November, 2009 (edited) Poor chap, definitely one to discuss on this forum. Whether he intended to buy Saints or not, for a short period he provided some badly needed hope and optimism in dark dark days. Edited 19 November, 2009 by SaintRobbie

Good luck Sir Good call on the chaos theory and I echo your good wishes to Paul Allen and smile at the unintentional and indirect role he had in bringing ML to the club. BTW how do you know Butterfly in Bangkok? She/he said she was mine and mine alone.
St Mikie Posted 18 November, 2009 Posted 18 November, 2009 I've never met him, but have worked on his yachts. He did have a massive passion for diving and has kitted out his boats accordingly. Unfortunately his illness has prevented all this in recent years, so I do wish him well and hope he can beat the cancer!

derry Posted 18 November, 2009 Posted 18 November, 2009 God, it is so common now, one of our friends died last month with liver cancer and three of my wife's friends have been diagnosed last month, 2 with breast cancer and the other with ovarian and lymph node etc. It is so sad. The only advantage he has, is his wealth gives him the best chance possible. Best of luck.
