Pancake Posted 17 November, 2009 Share Posted 17 November, 2009 New desktop with Windows 7 and it keeps dropping the wireless connection and random intervals. It "fixes" itself and says there is an issue with the Network Adapter. Ive re-installed the latest drivers for the Belkin USB wireless adptr but no joy. The router is up and running fine as I have a laptop, mobile, Wii, iPod etc all running fine through it with no drop outs. Any ideas? Anyone else come across this on Windows 7? Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 17 November, 2009 Share Posted 17 November, 2009 It's Micro$oft. What did you expect? No, honestly. Are you the only one who is surprised?
Pancake Posted 17 November, 2009 Author Share Posted 17 November, 2009 It's Micro$oft. What did you expect? No, honestly. Are you the only one who is surprised? My XP laptop is MS and its been running fine for 5 years now. As is my other XP laptop and the Vista one that I use now and then. All running fine. It obviously an issue with the wireless network setup/adapter and Windows 7. W7 is the 64bit version, so might be an issue there. I've mailed Belkin to see what driver they recommend for this version of W7.
Baj Posted 17 November, 2009 Share Posted 17 November, 2009 Most likely a driver issue mate
Pancake Posted 17 November, 2009 Author Share Posted 17 November, 2009 Yep, looks that way. Belkin dont have any approved Windows 7 64 drivers yet so Ive advised to use the XP 64 driver until thyey have the new ones certified by MS. Arse, will probably just buy a new USB adaptr tbf. Pancake Posted 17 November, 2009 Author Share Posted 17 November, 2009 Amazingly the XP64 drivers are working fine and havent fallen over all day (unlike the Vista64 ones that were shocking)
