RonManager Posted 16 November, 2009 Posted 16 November, 2009 In the interests of not dwelling too long on yesterdays unfortunate happenstances, you may wish to indulge yourselves and muse upon the thoughts of the Norwich hoardes and how that result has affected their perceived prospects against us, and, indeed, Brighton, whom they entertain next week. http://www.pinkun.com/cs_pinkun/cs/forums/1901577/ShowPost.aspx http://www.pinkun.com/cs_pinkun/cs/forums/1901485/ShowPost.aspx http://www.pinkun.com/cs_pinkun/cs/forums/1901253/ShowPost.aspx http://www.pinkun.com/cs_pinkun/cs/forums/1901261/ShowPost.aspx
RonManager Posted 17 November, 2009 Author Posted 17 November, 2009 I don't know about the rest of you but I've had a gutfull of overanalysing Sunday's result and am looking forward to Saturday. IMO there will be a massive reaction and a good home win. Uncertainty will now lie with Norwich as they will be mentally expecting us to tear into them. They will be right, we will. 3-0 Saints COYS
Glasgow_Saint Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 Important game for us...... Defeat and we could be 7 points behind 5th bottom..... Could mean we are still bottom 4 at turn of the year.
Arizona Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 Norwich have a terrible record at SMS, lets hope it continues.
Kingsbridge Saint Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 Pivotal game. Was Sunday a blip, or are we ****e again?
the saint in winchester Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 They say the sign of a good team is how they respond to a defeat. So let's see how we respond. Norwich will fancy their chances. Fasten your seat belts - this could be a bumpy ride.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 "Southampton don't look very good at all." Just what we want them to think, muwahaha. Despite our defeat to Brighton I'm also looking forward to this one, it's going to be tough and a real test. It will be interesting to see our bouncebackability levels and how we react to Sunday's defeat but I'm confident we can match Norwich, one of the better teams in this league. And Glasgow_Saint, look at it on the other hand, a win and we could be out of the relegation zone...
Scummer Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 And Glasgow_Saint, look at it on the other hand, a win and we could be out of the relegation zone... Not this weekend we can't.
RedAndWhite91 Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 Not this weekend we can't. Oh yeah *And Glasgow_Saint, look at it on the other hand, a win and we could climb above Stockport...
Thedelldays Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 deafet against norwich would be a very very bad result in the bigger picture... It would make reaching the playoffs very very difficult
keithd Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 I hate Holt. I hope the chubby gayer gets sent off after 3 minutes. and if our deeeefence perform like they did Sunday he'll have a field day, even if it is for just those 3 minutes
jawillwill Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 deafet against norwich would be a very very bad result in the bigger picture... It would make reaching the playoffs very very difficult I agree. However it will be a near certainty that we'll get promoted should we win on saturday.
Thedelldays Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 I agree. However it will be a near certainty that we'll get promoted should we win on saturday. would make it easier..as would every win
View From The Top Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 My son has just lost 3-2 to Norwich on FIFA 10. Be warned!
John B Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 Draw would be fine normally, but after the weekend we could really do with the win. Doesn't matter how it comes, getting 3 points against Norwich would be a huge boost and hopefully show Brighton was just an off day. Another performance like Brighton and I'd be worried. Worried about what? I cannot see us getting relegated
red&white56 Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 Worried about what? I cannot see us getting relegated I agree I don't see us being relegated, however I don't think we'll get into the play-offs either. Our poor start to the season has damaged our prospects beyond repair (IMO).
Whitey Grandad Posted 17 November, 2009 Posted 17 November, 2009 Let's just take it one game at a time, shall we?
RonManager Posted 17 November, 2009 Author Posted 17 November, 2009 Let's just take it one game at a time, shall we? I agree, at times like this you can't beat a good old football cliche!!
Saint Bones Posted 18 November, 2009 Posted 18 November, 2009 I think AP and the team would have had at least 4 points marked down for the Brighton and Norwich matches. Can't be done now so a confident display and 3 points this week would help keep the good overall results going. Saints 2 - 0 Norwich. (Lambert, Papa)
John B Posted 18 November, 2009 Posted 18 November, 2009 (edited) I agree I don't see us being relegated, however I don't think we'll get into the play-offs either. Our poor start to the season has damaged our prospects beyond repair (IMO). Yes totally agree. I think it is more important to beat Norwich in the JPT than the league as like you I do not at the moment see us making the play offs and never really have Edited 18 November, 2009 by John B
RonManager Posted 20 November, 2009 Author Posted 20 November, 2009 4-1 Saints in the p*ssin' rain!! COYR
converted_saint Posted 20 November, 2009 Posted 20 November, 2009 Pivotal game. Was Sunday a blip, or are we ****e again? Are you actually for real? I can't believe you are even considering that we "might be ****e again". It's impossible for any team to win every game and to suggest that we could be a crap team after one poor performance and result is just ludicrous.
saint J Posted 20 November, 2009 Posted 20 November, 2009 This could be a good sign, Norwich in the **** and may lose points! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/colchester_united/8370578.stm
Dalek2003 Posted 20 November, 2009 Posted 20 November, 2009 We desperately need 3 points to stop ourselves being involved in a long and protracted relegation struggle. However, i think they will 3 point for the Canaries on Saturday !
Stu Man Do Posted 20 November, 2009 Posted 20 November, 2009 This could be a good sign, Norwich in the **** and may lose points! http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/c/colchester_united/8370578.stm Ha you just know the FA don't have the bottle to take points off of ANY club without the administration factor. I imagine a smallish fine for Norwich and that will be that.

Micky Posted 21 November, 2009 Posted 21 November, 2009 How I wish you had been right - we are not as good as we think we are, alas. That is a very very good point, one which others might wish to take on board when we are still in this league at the end of next season.
