Dog Posted 13 September, 2008 Share Posted 13 September, 2008 Was rated the most violent city in europe back in the 1980's. The Eclipse brings back some memories.
Colinjb Posted 13 September, 2008 Share Posted 13 September, 2008 It's not so bad. You get used to the fires after a while.
Guest Dark Sotonic Mills Posted 13 September, 2008 Share Posted 13 September, 2008 It's the only time I have ever agreed with Hitler when he tried to completely flatten Coventry. Horrible, horrible place.
Colinjb Posted 13 September, 2008 Share Posted 13 September, 2008 I don't understand why it is so vilified. There are far, far worse places then Cov in the UK.

Colinjb Posted 13 September, 2008 Share Posted 13 September, 2008 Birmingham, Portsmouth, Croydon, Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Toxteth, Wolverhampton, Oldbury, Thanet, and Reading are worse. To name a few. Don't get me wrong. Coventry isn't great. But it's hardly the worst place in the world.

Colinjb Posted 13 September, 2008 Share Posted 13 September, 2008 Many times, many moons ago. It is a lot better then it used to be. You should still avoid Hillfields, Canley and Wyken but everywhere else is alright. Particularly parts of Earlsdon and Eastern Green.

Patrick Bateman Posted 14 September, 2008 Share Posted 14 September, 2008 Coventry is a hole. It really is a hideous place - spent a fair amount of time there recently including Friday and Sat morning. It's full of weirdos, the shops are rubbish, the bars are poor, the road network is annoying, the buildings are ugly ... etc. Got dragged round Ikea too - anywhere that has an Ikea is bad news. All of their songs are about Coventry. The Specials were the greatest band ever.

I think Ghost Town was written about this website. Do you remember the good old days before forum tax. I've seen more threads in Neville Staples' neck.
