Suhari Posted 15 November, 2009 Posted 15 November, 2009 Can't get the game today so heading into town for lunch and a watch of the game - not watched footie in Winchester in ages. Any recommendations as to where to watch?
LUKE9 Posted 15 November, 2009 Posted 15 November, 2009 County Arms next to the Hospital is best, but The exchange is probably the only place in town
South City Si Posted 15 November, 2009 Posted 15 November, 2009 Agree, would go to Exchange, big HD screen and food not bad either.

Exchange = Summer Lightning, Doom Bar and reasonable food. O'Neills = Fake Oirish, mass-produced food cooked by a student with a hangover, no decent beer to speak of. Bakers Arms = Well, the Bakers Arms. If you know, it you know what I mean, if you don't know it, don't bother. Spitfire from Shepherd Neame and Youngs Bitter. FILO = As Bakers above but + 2. A pie, a pint and a knifing please. Don't know about beer in here now, but it used to sell Courage Best.

Mind you, as I know bugger all about Farnborough in Hampshire, except the airshow, I could probably claim to know more about Quantum Theory than Farnborough.
Rebel Posted 15 November, 2009 Posted 15 November, 2009 I'm in The Exchange warming up for Kick-off - but that's partly because I thought it started at 4pm
the saint in winchester Posted 16 November, 2009 Posted 16 November, 2009 Guys, which of the pubs County Arms (nr hospital) The Exchange O'Neills The Bakers Arms FILO T'other one in Wales St would let me bring my 14 yo in with me? The Stanmore were accommodating, but they are now razed to the ground.

There was a time when we regularly lost, so she wouldn't know the difference, but even she knows we have been winning of late but crashed yesterday.
