benjii Posted 14 November, 2009 Share Posted 14 November, 2009 Not a bad draw at all, anyone at home would have been perfect - as i honestly feel we could beat anyone at St Mary's at the moment. ....and if Hereford beat Mk Dons....which is completely possible, wembley looks amazingly close.. Coudn't care less about that! We will beat either of them.
View From The Top Posted 14 November, 2009 Share Posted 14 November, 2009 This is a good draw.I'd rather face MK Dons or Hereford over 2 legs than Norwich so if we can get past Norwich we've got a very good chance of getting to Wembley. At this stage anyone at home is a good draw really. 100% agreement with that. Legod Third Coming Posted 14 November, 2009 Share Posted 14 November, 2009 He's just trying to be funny because I was dying in hospital that day and he had to go to the Torquay game on his own. RedAndWhite91 Posted 14 November, 2009 Share Posted 14 November, 2009 I'll take Norwich at home. We've shown we are as good as the best teams in this league by beating Charlton and MK Dons so I see no reason why we can't beat Norwich. As for MK Dons or Hereford, I am confident we'd beat them over two legs and so Wembley looks a real possibility. Don't get me wrong, Norwich is going to be a really tough game. Arizona Posted 14 November, 2009 Share Posted 14 November, 2009 Happy with that. A lot of people were scared of Charlton, but they cam here and were complete garbage. We also have a pretty good record against Norwich at home. 4-3 1-0 2-1 0-1 (but we absolutely battered them and missed a pen) 2-0 In the last five years. We also beat them 2-0 on our way to the FA Cup final. Anders and Tessem got the goals.

Papas going to Wembley His knees are going all trembley La, la, la, la I know its an old Spuds song but it works. Norwich at home is a great draw, we have got to play the better teams to win it. Fowllyd Posted 14 November, 2009 Share Posted 14 November, 2009 Without getting carried away, Why should we fear anyone home or away in this league? Many on here are saying that they wouldn't fancy us away to Norwich. Why not. On the evidence in recent weeks when high flying MK Dons and Charlton turned up(or not) we made them look what they are..........Average at best! This side now IS capable of beating anyone including Leeds. We have a winning mentality now which is something that Pards stated he wanted right from the Hearts game.We also have a team that don't know when they are beaten, L Orient and Torquay being two examples of comebacks recently. Believe in this team and we WILL be promoted this season. Stuff the season of consolidation sh1t. Listen to Pards interviews after the Charlton game.He mentions Wembly appearences, either through the JPT trophy final OR PLAYOFFS This team BELIEVES that they are capable, so should we...............COYR. By gad, I like the cut of your jib, sir!
THINWHITEDUKE Posted 14 November, 2009 Share Posted 14 November, 2009 I think thats a good draw, more likely to beat them in a one off game at home than over two legs. Beat Norwich and you have to fancy us over two legs against MK Dons or Hereford. Totally agree you've called it there:)

the saint in winchester Posted 14 November, 2009 Share Posted 14 November, 2009 Think i'm more happy that Hereford are at home to MKD rather than us being at home to Naaaarwich. Hereford are 100x more likely ot beat MKD at home than away, so we could see a Saints / Hereford pre final final. Yeah that my thought too. If we have to play Norwich, then better we play them in a one-off at home. And there is now a good chance we could get Hereford after that. So to be brief +
Legod Third Coming Posted 14 November, 2009 Share Posted 14 November, 2009 Don't think we have at all to be honest I don't think you can dispute that if we beat Charlton, Nowrich and Leeds will have beaten the three best teams in the competition, apart from ourselves. Not getting a bye and actually having an away tie would have made this alot harder didn't we get Torquay? One of the worst teams in England.. Plonko Posted 14 November, 2009 Share Posted 14 November, 2009 This is the best draw for us.....we've already shown we can beat mk dons...i'm sure we can handle hereford, worry about that later. As said above...Norwich over 2 legs could be an open ended contest...wouldn't be so confident of going to wembley with that. However, a single game at home, playing like we are at them moment...we should get through to the 2 legged final...and we should be able to take either of the other teams over 2 legs. That's alot of 'shoulds'......Can almost smell Wembley now though....we have been given every chance to get there, so let's make sure we take it and get a big crowd for this game. Half past two. Saints Warrior Posted 14 November, 2009 Share Posted 14 November, 2009 Beat Norwich and I think it says we can win this. They are a comparable side to us if we had the 10 points added. So on the face of it yes this looks tough but we could have got through and then got them in SA Final two leg stage anyway. But great its at home...will be sold out easy, no problem and with a brilliant atmospher the Charlton game as great even fans still singing towards the station on away home... sperm_john Posted 14 November, 2009 Share Posted 14 November, 2009 We need to beat them in the league game now.. otherwise we are going to have a psychological barrier to over come when we play them in the JPT ...also, this is probably the most attractive fixture, is it going to be on sky??? = not good for attendance Just watching huddersfield absolutely destroy wycombe, good for us in terms of relegation candidates, bad for us in that we want the boys at the top to do badly as well ..argh this us being on the bottom but should be at the top is getting confusing! eelpie Posted 14 November, 2009 Share Posted 14 November, 2009 We now have some great matches ahead all coming within a short period following the home league 1 game against Norwich. Between 21st of this month and 19th December we'll have played 8 matches, ending with Leeds away a few days after playing the canaries in the JPT. So stamina, fitness and luck in not getting injuries during this period is going to be the key to our season. I hope the Northampton and Norwich cup games don't go to penalties. 8 matches within one month. How many can we win? 21/11 Norwich H 24/11 Hartlepool A 28/11 Northampton FA Cup A 1/12 Wycombe H 5/12 Walsall A 12/12 Tranmere H ?/12 Norwich JPT H 19/12 Leeds A Will the fixture overcrowding affect our cup success? Do we have sufficient strength in depth now? If we beat Norwich in the league next Saturday I think we'll really be onto a great run. Should we concentrate on league or cups?
