Saintandy666 Posted 12 November, 2009 Posted 12 November, 2009 Can someone please explain the structure and how it works from now on round by round to me? I'ma bit confuddled.
SNSUN Posted 12 November, 2009 Posted 12 November, 2009 Next game would be the Southern Area semi-final, followed by the Southern Area Final (two legged I've learned tonight), followed by the overall final at Wembley against the Northern Area Final winners. Sod the FA Cup, we won't win it - this is the most important cup.

All he had to do was type "Johnstones Paint Trophy" into google and it would have given him the competition's official website as the first link. I never understand why people ask questions such as these. Google is your friend
Huntingdon Posted 12 November, 2009 Posted 12 November, 2009 Bet365 - JPT Saints 4/1 to win JPT Saints 11/8 to reach Wembley Leeds v Saints final 5/2
alpine_saint Posted 12 November, 2009 Posted 12 November, 2009 So we are still 3 games away from Wembley. No better than the 5th round of the FA Cup then...
Wes Tender Posted 12 November, 2009 Posted 12 November, 2009 So we are still 3 games away from Wembley. No better than the 5th round of the FA Cup then... Apart from the fact that all the teams we will be playing are in the third division or below, whereas in the FA Cup by that round we would probably be playing teams in the Premiership or even those playing in the Champions' League.

Right sider Posted 12 November, 2009 Posted 12 November, 2009 The same format as the ZDS Cup we got to the final in, in 1993

nickfinks Posted 12 November, 2009 Posted 12 November, 2009 The same format as the ZDS Cup we got to the final in, in 1993 Franny was talking bout the zenith data systems cup on sky sports coverage of the Saints-Charlton match, i got the impression from him that these so called lower cups are still desirable to players, as its a wembley appearance after all.

The Full Members (ZDS/Simod) wasn't a lower cup. It was originally only really devised in 1985 to give the clubs that otherwise would have qualified for Europe (during the UEFA ban of English clubs). It was expanded to include other top/second flight teams but ceased to exist after 1992 (the year we got to the final).
