I have seen a number of posts on these pages moaning about the £5 payment required for full membership and I may have had a moan myself once or twice!!

 

I should like to say that I have now paid my fiver and I am very pleased that I have done so. Once you become a full member all the benefits of joining become clearer and there is much more freedom of access to the forum. I thoroughly recommend joining...

 

Some of you may have noticed that in recent weeks I have been talking of the new Saints site I have been involved in starting, 'OhWhenTheSaints...' Both Saints Web and OhWhenTheSaints are intended to be of benefit to Saints fans and there is surely no reason why the two cannot exist in tandem, rather than in opposition.

 

OhWhenTheSaints, being new, has a very much smaller user base than Saints Web and the two forums tend to have a different bias both towards our beloved Saints and towards the type of things that should be discussed.

 

I hope many Saints fan will enjoy using both forums...

I suspect many people either don't want to pay £5 to be ignored by the 'in crowd' on here, which is a tad worse than being abused because someone doesn't agree with your point of view. Shame really - the forum really is a shadow of its former self as so many once prolific and entertaining posters have been put-off. I still enjoy the occasional peep to see what's going on, but frankly it is not worth spending that much time on nowadays.

Fair play but thats all well and good until you generate as many posters as this forum or tsf and you keep frying servers and need money to pay for a decent one!

I intend to cough up a fiver..this forum is a life line for us long distance supporters that the club chooses not to aknowledge , even via the official site !!!

Having giving the matter careful consideration i have decided not to pay a fiver to post on here and having visited ohhwhenthesaints will not return there again. OK so it's early days but it really is quite embarrassing and at times Mike it seems like you are answering your own posts. Your thread on here is the most unsubtle of adverts imaginable. The next thing you know there will be that bloke who runs b-anter coming on and saying how there is no rivalry between saints web and http://www.b-anter.co.uk/index.php just to bolster up his traffic.

Lol, in agreement with swastika quite unusually.

 

b-anter has its niche for people who want to go there, not everyone's cuppa. Unmoderated etc.

 

In support of Baj and Steve I think most people don't realise the expertise and effort that goes into making a site such as TSW work for a wider family of posters.

 

However, each to their own!

I will pay five pounds but thats if only I got the time or a job in the office.

 

My job is physical based. If I worked in a office all day or had less of a busier life style then count me in ;)

The way it is going the old server would of coped admirably with the amount of traffic on here recently,even on matchday.

Clearly a ridiculous comment as then we would have the same issues as before.

 

Some people won't pay £5. So they can go to other sites as advertised by the author of this thread. Some like it here now and some don't. What's the issue?

 

If I was in charge of TSW now I'd get rid of the three posts a day for free personally. It would stop the squawking about the issue. You're in or out! If you're out, go find another site.

 

Most of the good posters have paid up anyway. The ******s are elsewhere.

I don't anticipate OhWhenTheSaints would ever approach the size of SW so the problem should never arise. My aim is that it should always remain a lower key forum with maybe between 200 and 500 regular visitors. The target is 100 by the end of September when the site will be a month old.

 

Anyway, we appear to have Jason Euell and Rudi Skacel posting!!

We talk about many cultural issues and love to don our face paints whilst having jovial banter online.

 

I don't like to blatantly advertise it in the hope of getting more people posting though.

I miss The Real Atticius Finch (does he have a new user name?), Plastic Saint (What the hell ever happened to him?!), Tiggs Theo (Is he here under a different username?), Junction 9 Way Too Far (He seems to have been away a very long time), and Robsk (Is he the same as RobskII?).

If you think you can read Jan's mind, you should visit 'OhWhenTheSaints' and have a go at forecasting the correct starting eleven for each Saints match. After getting the team right for the Barnsley game, Minsk is currently top of the league.
