But some players just need a change of team, style or pattern of play or in fact area of the country.

Take Gary Monk who I see has extended his contract at Swansea and done really well there - yet here he just looked slow, cumbersome and way off the pace. Ok we were a few divisions higher but he looked light years away - just like Olly does now when he is near the 1st team.

For a centre back he is still very young and he should be given plenty of time to find his feet. For me he looks excellent in posession and I often wondered if he could not play at full back. At present he just is not ugly enough to play centre back. He needs to be much nastier, making his presence felt much more, and look to bully attackers even if that means giving a few free kicks away. Far too much `after you' going on. A long spell out on loan will do him a world of good. If he was 25 then I'd say get rid, but he could still come good.

Err excuse me but I started this thread, so I didn't hijack anything. And also it wasn't me who brought golf up on this thread. In fact it's very rarely me who brings golf up. So sod off.

Lancashire was unlucky with the own goal, I didn't watch all the game but he looked competent, neat and tidy against one of the best attacks around. I think he needs to stay playing on loan for the rest of the season and build up his experience levels.

Central defenders in the main mature later than other positions, he looks like a player who will be a late developer and probably suited to the second centre half roll with a dominant header/leader alongside him.
