he is so good, they're appointed him only for the rest of the season!

IMO he was the reason Wise looked like he was doing well at Leeds. They went to poo once he left for Spuds.

Im suprised its only till the end of the season, maybe he didnt want longer than that as he wants to make the step up by then so will just use Brighton to get where he wants.

They are defo stronger with him than without.

I agree that he was the better of the duo. It just seems odd for a club to make such a short term appointment - given the investment behind them. Changing managers too often is something to be avoided.

A bit annoying that we now have the curse of the new manager as well as sky on Sunday' date=' but doesn't change the fact our players are much better than theirs.[/quote']

There was no such thing as the curse of Sky were just crap and lost loads of games.

We are now better and should win against both Brighton and Charlton

****!! That's a great appointment. As said above, he was the driving force behind Leeds when they were doing well, he did well as an assistant at Spurs. I've always said he should have his own management job...Just a shame it has to be the team playing us next....Live on sky aswell....B0LLOCKS

Still I suppose our fortunes have changed lately ;)

COYR!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Email from a Brighton mate of mine;

There will be nothing for you chaps to concern yourselves with regarding any possible momentum brought about by today's appointment. I am afraid he will have far too much to do before he can plug the holes in our remarkably leaky defence. Splendid fellows that they are, our defenders could not stop a pig in a passage.

Good, I hope he's right.

Pigs are notriously difficult to stop - particulary when greased.

Maybe we should give Lallana a quick rub down with goose fat before kick off :)

What's all this about him doing well with Leeds?

I thought Wise and him were in charge when they got relegated in 2007.

Only right at the end of the season. (No chance of staying up with or without them). But he was part of the team that overturned a -18 point penalty and almost got promoted.

According to Wiki, they were appointed at Leeds in October 2006.

I'm quite prepared to believe it was mainly Wise's fault they got relegated though.

This kind of thing gets wheeled out quite often about assistant managers and I have no idea how anyone can really know.

It wasn't that long ago that Brian Kidd was being hailed as the real reason Man UTD did so well....

I didn't notice much of the Poyet magic at Spurs when they had their worst start for several thousand years last season. All the credit for Leeds, none of the blame for Spurs. Being an assistant manager is a pretty easy life.

Good luck to him, but he might not be the messiah.
