pilsburydoughboy Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 when is the draw? Sunday afternoon at 3.35.Live on ITV.We are number 15.
John Cool Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Aldershot at home. Doddy to play the last 10 mins with us 5-0 up :-)
docker-p Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 I don't care as long as its a proper football club; no AFC Eastpark Athletic, Fryen Hill Sports or Bournemouth.
sticksaint Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Leeds away!Because if we won it would shut a few people up :-)
TUS Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Gateshead away please :-) (plus there's a lawrie mac & ali dia connection)
Mattio Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Torquay away, just cos its 20 minutes down the road
Under Weststand Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Stockport away would do nicely thanks, just around the corner & eminently winnable , but will probably get Leeds Norwich or Charlton away.
suewhistle Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Staines yoof is on the out. It's the Slough slags you want to watch out for... Ah, the Maidenhead United chant.... "We hate Slough and Slough Town, we hate Slough and Slough l we hate Slough and Slough Town, Slough Town we hate you, dum dum dum,!" .... To the tune of "Land of Hope and Glory" Any of you who have read Nick Hornby will understand...
CLOTH EARS Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 We will get Bath City, Aldershot or Wycombe or Brighton.
Fan The Flames Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Gillingham, up the road for me and we have to wait until may for this game in the league.
RonManager Posted 7 November, 2009 Author Posted 7 November, 2009 Something straightforward so we don't pick up so many bookings as last night. They are mounting up.
saint-luco Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 gotta be gillingham away, then i can walk there, make a change to have 2 "home" games in a season, beats my 200 mile round trip every home game
krissyboy31 Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Pretty much the same, the main difference being that instead of smelling like fish, they smell of Mars chocolate. Lol. I used to work there and that was all you could smell for miles around.
marc_saint Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Would like Gateshead away. Cracking weekend on the pop in Newcastle! :-)
La BoIS Saint Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 A mid ranking League two team away where I haven't been. Preferably up north.
SamKimish Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 Home to Staines would be nice. I like the sound of that!
Nineteen Canteen Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 the worst possible team at home so we can rest some players Agreed but we rest the whole first 11 for risk of injury from a bunch of non-league kickers. Frankly lets ditch this and the JPT to focus on consolidation and rebuild for a foundation to storm this league next season. For the first time in a long time cup games simply hold no interest whatsoever and I wince seeing the likes of a fragile Connolly playing on Friday night. He is one of the players who could possibly help us achieve a slim chance of 6th this season as he has looked different class with his movement and anticipation. Why put in an aggressive cup run and destroy our absolute No 1 priority?
Nineteen Canteen Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 A mid ranking League two team away where I haven't been. Preferably up north. As long as it's not Bury as we only just managed to see them off at home 2 seasons ago under the watchful guidance of Crouch and his right hand man. What was the statement? Something like 'Dodd and Gorman are the right decision for this club...........' as decisions go it wasn't right for long.
sticksaint Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 A mid ranking League two team away where I haven't been. Preferably up north. We don`t want you london saints "up north" ;-)
saintwarwick Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 I want coventry away! Good shout and I would like them as well being just down the road but they don't join until the third round
saintwarwick Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 One of Walsall, Kettering, Oxford Utd (or City should they win today), Northampton or Rushden and Diamonds away will suit me.
pilsburydoughboy Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 I don't care as long as its a proper football club; no AFC Eastpark Athletic, Fryen Hill Sports or Bournemouth. Jesus who rattled your cage. Are Fryrern Hill Sports still going.Maybe you could manage them as i think VITO has retired.
opthomps Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 any game with an afternoon kick off so i can actually watch/listen to it please. I am not a 5/6am kind of person. Midday saturday or sunday would be nice
chocco boxo Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 York City at Kit Kat Crescent please! Dreamt it was York last night but it was played at Fleming Park!! WTF
beatlesaint Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 As long as it's not Bury as we only just managed to see them off at home 2 seasons ago under the watchful guidance of Crouch and his right hand man. What was the statement? Something like 'Dodd and Gorman are the right decision for this club...........' as decisions go it wasn't right for long. Indeed....following on from a previous Chairman who made similar quotes regarding Gray, Wigley, Sturrock, Redknapp, Portaloo and Wotte !!
Saint_Jim Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 Im gonna predict the most boring possible tie as thats what we usually get, Huddersfield home or away
Whitey Grandad Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 Bournemouth away. S**t all over those redknapp worshippers while ensuring they make f**k all money out of the game. We should even decline any offer to play the game at SMS. That is no longer an option. The home team can no longer switch the ground.
Whitey Grandad Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 when is the draw? I was wondering too, so from the FA site: Live Second Round proper draw 3.35pm, Sunday 8 November 2009 Live on ITV1
Whitey Grandad Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 Oh, and who do I want? Any lower-league team at home, or if it's away then some proper football ground that I haven't been to before in some interesting part of the country. That'll be Norwich away then.
Thedelldays Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 Agreed but we rest the whole first 11 for risk of injury from a bunch of non-league kickers. Why put in an aggressive cup run and destroy our absolute No 1 priority? agree with this ..I would not want to lose to charlton in the JPT..I think it would be great for the team to have a day out at wembley.. as for the FA cup....I would rather we did not enter this season.. watching the FULL team play friday night in those conditions was not my cuppa... should we lose lambert, we would be well and truely stuck IMO.... but then again, football works in funny ways.. connolly (from what I have seen) is a great "fox in the box" type of striker...a great partner for lambert..
Professor Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 Surprised at so many people wanting an away draw in the FA cup. True, we can expect to win away to anyone in the next round, but home advantage makes that more probable and means a gate of over 20,000. The uncertainty of the draw is one of the great things about the FA cup - and was a factor in getting to the Final in 2003. If this year the draw gives us a chance to see how this Saints team performs against a premier league side, that would be very interesting. Lets be the first Div1 side to get to the Final.

Clifford Nelson Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 With gratitude to all those who pointed out the error of my ways, and that Reading doesn't come in until the third round. Thank you! Nevertheless, Reading in the third round, at home, still looks attractive to me.
gjphilsaint Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 Would like to go to a new ground. Barrow Southport Rochdale Kettering (where is this?) Gateshead Wrexham York Accrington Stanley Staines Massive Hereford Rushden & Diamonds Oxford Utd kettering is in Northamptonshire... local rivals Rushden & D and Northampton Town, it has the A14 passing alongside of it!

If this year the draw gives us a chance to see how this Saints team performs against a premier league side, that would be very interesting. Lets be the first Div1 side to get to the Final. Its pretty simple, away games are fun and St Marys is dull. Personally I want a non league or London away. Don't really care though these draws are nearly all dissapointing.

Why put in an aggressive cup run and destroy our absolute No 1 priority? Harding and Trottman are both now on 4 bookings, Hammond on 3. I spent some time last night trawling the FA site to find out whether bookings are 'competition specific' but no luck - anybody know? With Norwich coming up soon we need these two in the team.

Block 5 Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 Any sh1te non-league team at home will do me.
Um Bongo Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 Draw Numbers 2 Bath City 4 AFC Bournemouth 5 Lincoln City 7 Burton Albion or Oxford City 8 Barrow 10 Cambridge United 11 York City 12 Wycombe Wanderers or Brighton & Hove Albion 14 Exeter City 16 Carlisle United or Morecambe 17 Forest Green Rovers or Mansfield Town 18 Oxford United 21 Port Vale or Stevenage Borough 22 Luton Town or Rochdale 24 Accrington Stanley 27 Staines Town 28 Wealdstone or Rotherham United 34 Rushden & Diamonds 36 Aldershot Town 37 Wrexham 38 Kettering Town Any of them at home.
gaz Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 Lincoln City please. I'm 20 mins away from Sincil Bank. And whenever I wear my Saints scarf, the locals here think I'm a Imp because the stripes (the badges on each end are usually covered under my coat).
Jillyanne Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 What channel and what time is the draw please?
