View From The Top Posted 7 November, 2009 Share Posted 7 November, 2009 they probably are..so far, given us no reason to suggest they are not.. antonio seems a right find.. The thing I like about the way SFC is run now is we only find out when deals are done. I've no reason to think that will change and no reason to think that the CB & RM issues won't be sorted. Ponty Posted 7 November, 2009 Share Posted 7 November, 2009 This is the last time I'll ask. Knock off the baiting and the sarcastic posts designed purely to elicit aggressive reactions. I've sent out warnings and infractions tonight and I'm happy to send out some more if it doesn't end here. Cheers.
saintwarwick Posted 7 November, 2009 Share Posted 7 November, 2009 thing..many of these posts are started to prove a point to another poster rather than celebrate what we have done over the last 5 weeks or so Really or is it possible cheerful threads can be posted? Read into it how you want but we have had to put up with the doom and gloom threads so it's just great we can see light at the end of the tunnel and happiness has returned to our club. Bring on the cheerful threads I say and hope Nick is able to update us every week with more of the same.
glkdcdes Posted 7 November, 2009 Share Posted 7 November, 2009 Of course not. But the average Saints fan can count and knows the results we're getting. NickG seems to feel the need to state the bleedin obvious after every game. We're not stupid, he's not the only one to spot the run, and its getting tedious. it just struck me that when nickg listed our last 7 games[and why not, nothing like some good reading on this forum], you reacted a bit like when that priest sprinkled water on the possessed girl in the excorcist? Would you have been happier if hed quoted our worst run from last season?

NickG Posted 7 November, 2009 Author Share Posted 7 November, 2009 WON Bristol Rover 3-2 Connolly (2) Antonio Drew Orient 2-2 Lambert (2) WON MK 3-1 Lambert, Connolly, Hammond WON Oldham 3-1 Lambert, Connolly, Hammond WON Southend 3-1 Lallana (2) Trottman WON Torquay (pens) 2-2 Wiago (2) WON Gillingham 4-1 Lambert, Lallana (2), Waigo 20 goals in 7 games. 6 wins, 1 draw (5,2 depending on your view of pens win) And that was exactly the way I took the original OP. If for some reason the celebratory, enjoying the moment post - just after a victory, read, in your mind, as being a criticism of you then I apologise. I can assure you that you were not in my mind at all until your insulting post which I should not have reacted to. I am sorry a let myself leave the football chat and enter the world of three year old tit for tat. We won. We are winning a lot. To me, and the vast majority of posters on this thread it is fun to read that first post. It was aimed at Saints fans to enjoy the good times - we have waited a long time - and we never know how long they will last! It was not aimed (nor can I personally still see how it could be read that way) to bait those who do not enjoy victories.

To be fair, we've had four years of complete and utter sh1te... why shouldn't we enjoy our moment? We've had to put up with so much recently, now we're playing well, financially stable and on the up... if we can't be smug now when can we be? Do we have to be top and ten points clear before people are allowed to enjoy it?
St Will Posted 8 November, 2009 Share Posted 8 November, 2009 Do we have to be top and ten points clear before people are allowed to enjoy it? I think we do What I find absurd is that some people find it ok to slam people when they try to post something positive, but if the same people post something negative, whinge and complain, they think it's acceptable we're not allowed to criticise them. I don't understand why anyone would WANT to be negative. Fair enough if we're being deluded and we're 10 points adrift at the bottom, but we've won 6 in the last 7! Clifford Nelson Posted 8 November, 2009 Share Posted 8 November, 2009 (edited) i didn't mean it as a criticism at the moment, just that really good teams on their bad days can grind out a scrappy 1-0 or even hold onto a 0-0 away - i'm not sure we can do that yet... And as I said, I didn't think that I disagreed with you. It looks to me that AP started with curing a badly leaking defense, then dealt with a team that didn't concede but couldn't score, and then ended up with a team which scores in abundance but has started to leak again. I'm sure that he is trying to deal with that right now. It's all a matter of compromises as any manager or ex-manager must realise, but the current goal spree has certainly made the games exciting to watch, and I tried to point out that attacking football is part of the Saints history, and on balance is better than bore draws, and remember that the saying of "one nil to the Arsenal" was never uttered in admiration. This was a reasonable post I was about to respond to until the dig at the end I've highlighted. How do you I dont enjoy victories ? Its a pity you dont know my kids, who would describe to you how I reacted when I managed to get a WAP connection from my phone at the Austrian Bundesliga game I went to at the same time as the Saints game against MK Dons, near the end of the second half, and saw the score. Get over yourself Alpwhine. The forum doesn't revolve around you. Had i been able i wanted to start a similar thread to this to comment on Saints now having a winning mentality - something the club has never had in the 20 or so years i've been a supporter. Last season i was totally demoralised with Saints and even stopped going to games because of "he who shall not be named". Now i've refound my passion and have been to loads of games already this year. Football is fun again and after all we've been through it's fan-fvkcing-tastic. If all you can do is moan and whinge and grumble during these good times then i feel sorry for you.

niceandfriendly Posted 9 November, 2009 Share Posted 9 November, 2009 It looks great over here in China. Can't see how anyone could see this post as anything other than positive - some people seriously need to get out more. 6 wins in 7 isn't something we do often, let's enjoy it.
