NickG Posted 6 November, 2009 Author Posted 6 November, 2009 not failed to score for 11 games - since Sept 5th not lost for 7 games - since Sept 29th - and that was flucky result, before that 14 games back to B'ham in August in cup
S-Clarke Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 great reading, but we don't keep clean sheets...and if we have a bad day in front of goal, we'll loose...we don't seem to have it in us atm to grind out a 0-0...
Saint_clark Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 We get the message, FFS. Alpine, I agree with you that this forum should be a place for balanced debate. But there is nothing wrong with listing a set of results in which we haven't lost, won 6 and drawn one.
Pancake Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 We get the message, FFS. Hold on Alpine, are you unhappy to see these stats?
NickG Posted 6 November, 2009 Author Posted 6 November, 2009 We get the message, FFS. only person who could get p1ssed off with reading that! You really are happier when it goes wrong

Even if it does depress Alpine
alpine_saint Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Hold on Alpine, are you unhappy to see these stats? Of course not. But the average Saints fan can count and knows the results we're getting. NickG seems to feel the need to state the bleedin obvious after every game. We're not stupid, he's not the only one to spot the run, and its getting tedious.

alpine_saint Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 only person who could get p1ssed off with reading that! You really are happier when it goes wrong Nope, just fed up with your patronising attitude.
alpine_saint Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Might as well quote it as many times as possible, if it p*sses Alpine off. Why would it p*ss me off ?

Tokyo-Saint Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Alpine really is the Victor Meldrew of all saints fans.
Saint_clark Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 7 games without a loss?? I DON'T belieeeeve it!
S-Clarke Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 7 games without a loss?? I DON'T belieeeeve it! i'm not used to it, a weird feeling. feels weird winning most weeks too...but i'll get used to it

notnowcato Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 (edited) It's superb. Poor Alps.... Edited 6 November, 2009 by notnowcato
saint J Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Of course not. But the average Saints fan can count and knows the results we're getting. NickG seems to feel the need to state the bleedin obvious after every game. We're not stupid, he's not the only one to spot the run, and its getting tedious. But it's still nice to see it in black and white, like a nice pair of breasts, you know their sweet to feel and you've seen them before but you can never refuse another look!
fish fingers Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 BBC website describes us as "in-form Southampton" how long since we were described as that. Feels good.
Give it to Ron Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 we drew with torquay HTH No we didnt or else why would we be in the next round? We won 7-5.
Toomer Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 In some way it reminds of the Chris Nichol days you score 2 and we will score 3, feel good factor about the club and we get value for money 3 or 4 goals most games.
NickG Posted 6 November, 2009 Author Posted 6 November, 2009 Wembley 3 times?  can't see more than twice this season - it is a consolidation season after all!
Saint_clark Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 But it's still nice to see it in black and white, like a nice pair of breasts, you know their sweet to feel and you've seen them before but you can never refuse another look! LOL!
alpine_saint Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 For the first time since the 80s, I feel like we dont fear anyone in our path and we can expect a result out of a game. Which is why the Orient result was so damned annoying.
mcjwills Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 In some way it reminds of the Chris Nichol days you score 2 and we will score 3, feel good factor about the club and we get value for money 3 or 4 goals most games. Aye they were the days football was reet good exciting

Ewell Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 great reading, but we don't keep clean sheets...and if we have a bad day in front of goal, we'll loose...we don't seem to have it in us atm to grind out a 0-0... Spot on. I think we are a reasonable team at this level but until we start to grind out results and keep clean sheets then we cannot be considered one of the best sides in league 1.
Saint_clark Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 For the first time since the 80s, I feel like we dont fear anyone in our path and we can expect a result out of a game. St.Jeweller Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 can't see more than twice this season - it is a consolidation season after all! LOL That we settle for twice.........That seeemed a very long way away back in the middle of summer.
Glasgow_Saint Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 we drew with torquay HTH I believe me and you were the ones preaching about our potential to do well this season while everyone around us told us time after time (after time) that we were being unrealistic and this is just a re-building season. do we get any praise for being right? noooooooooo shame we were so poor 1st ten games.....
westofshannonsaint Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 (edited) 8 different players on the score sheet Edited 6 November, 2009 by westofshannonsaint would like to see a clean sheet though
NickG Posted 6 November, 2009 Author Posted 6 November, 2009 I'm not worried about clean sheets in our next 7 - will quite happily take a repeat of the above!
the boy from saints Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 For me this is the first time I feel I can revel in the fact that Saints seem to be the real thing for the first time since WGS. I love this post as a positive affirmation as to how good it feels to be a Saints supporter tonight! Life feels good!

Good feeling tonight.

Well, I had us down for the play-offs but never thought about banging on about it. I'm sure there were many others. It took some weeks to get a team playing as one and it's great to see so many goals, however there is still a long way to go and the defence seem to be too generous atm. Let's hope we can get some cover for the defence what with the uncertainty with Trottman and injuries to the full-backs as well as Hammond in midfield. It could be the difference of just making it or missing out by a few points.
krissyboy31 Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 I'm not worried about clean sheets in our next 7 - will quite happily take a repeat of the above! I agree to an extent but in the first half, we didn't really look like scoring. Conceding 1 or 2 every match will start to put more and more pressure on the strikers to score. If they have an off day (or two halves like tonight's first), we come away with nothing.
Kaiser Soze Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Alpine....go and kill yourself you fu cking d1ck. Great run of results of lads, keep it going. Can't remember the last time I felt so upbeat watching Saints.
alpine_saint Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Alpine....go and kill yourself you fu cking d1ck. Bizarre at how aggressive a certain element of our fan base gets when we win. I thought the aggression was about losing...
Kaiser Soze Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Bizarre at how aggressive a certain element of our fan base gets when we win. I thought the aggression was about losing... I'm aggresive towards you as you are dull, boring, negative and bask in the glory when things go wrong. You're pathetic and it wouldn't suprise me if you were a deluded skate on a wind-up.

Badger Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Of course not. But the average Saints fan can count and knows the results we're getting. NickG seems to feel the need to state the bleedin obvious after every game. We're not stupid, he's not the only one to spot the run, and its getting tedious. After the last few sh!t seasons I am more than happy to cope with this sort of tedium and don't begrudge a fellow Saints fan revelling in it. Lets be honest had we lost seven in a row it would be meltdown on the forum. There would be countless threads about our run,the boardroom, and where the manager is living and whether it shows commitment, and what time he was last seen in the bar at the De Vere. A few wins, and confidence in the owner and manager makes much better reading.
tttdcs Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Why would it p*ss me off ? Bad day ? ........ just lost at poker? ......... found the mrs in bed with your ski instructor ? ............. your daughter is marrying a skate ?

CB Fry Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 everyone is so quick to say when we are wrong I think we should be thanked by nearly everyone on here.. who is "unrealistic" now...neer, neer, neer Quite. Any news from the pontificating patronising "reality checkers" telling us what a fantastic achievement it would be just to stay up this season? Let's see whose reality is more accurate come season end shall we? I wonder if we're allowed to say we're a bigger club than Yeovil Town yet? Or that still too "arrogant".
Torrent Of Abuse Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 We get the message, FFS. You don't do yourself any favours do you? You can't complain about people being hypercritical of your opinions if that's how you react to people.
