Thedelldays Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 happy days..we were the better team good old fashioned FA cup tie.... Antonio is fantastic...
trousers Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Superb superb superb Just one thought....Gobern on for Harding at 3 nil up. Discuss. (I'm obviously assuming St Will isn't logged on tonight any policing anything closely resembling a negative comment....)
DrZuess1979 the 2nd Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 ref was gagging to give them something but get in
John B Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Strange substitutions really Was Harding injured? But really good win
Saintjersey Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Get in, great win for us, bring on the second round!
Edmonton Saint Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Gobern a liability, and hopefully Pardew will have learnt from that...But in the next round which is all that counts...Hopefully a nice home tie in the next round.
Stepgar Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Phew squeaky bum time towards the last 5 mins though. Thought Antonio looked superb amd Jaidi what a mountain of a man. Well done lads
It's There Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 The perfect result. A victory that still keeps feet firmly on the ground because they came back into the game and scored 2 late goal. We're soooooooo much better than a month ago, but not yet at top notch. Anthonio and Connelly 2 plus points tonight, along with Kelvin. Bring on Leeds at home in round 2!!
S-Clarke Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Superb superb superb Just one thought....Gobern on for Harding at 3 nil up. Discuss. no point focusing on it for hours, but it was odd that mills didn't come on - one for pard's to never try again, good lesson to be learnt... no worries though, we won.
WGC Saint Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Bloody hell that was a bit too close at the end there but great result all the same. Keeps the momentum going and hopefully make it to a big tie in round 3 (if we get there).
Colinjb Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 We. Must. Sign. Antonio. NOW!!!!!! And a great win! Really entertaining game, awesome cup tie.
eurosaint Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Hoping for an easy home draw next round ! Great 2nd half, watched on Hungarian TV (which I first thought was Iraqui then Romanian!).
Toomer Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Watched the game on line great result keep the momentum going, a little to close for comfort at the end.
saintdom Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 great game managed to watch the whole game online. cheers to everyone who posted links. looking forward to see who we are drawn against in the next round COYR
Colinjb Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Gobern a liability, and hopefully Pardew will have learnt from that...But in the next round which is all that counts...Hopefully a nice home tie in the next round. 3-0 up and cruising, a good time to experiment. We have learnt from it, make no mistake.
krissyboy31 Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Gobern a liability, and hopefully Pardew will have learnt from that...But in the next round which is all that counts...Hopefully a nice home tie in the next round. Gobern's not a defender and should not be played there IMO.
St David Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Great result, keeps us on the up!!!! Would love the Fish lovers in the next round
bpsaint Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Great win! Although I don't think the scoreline really reflects the game though, was nice to score 3 goals like that in quick succession! Do hope Harding was taken off as a precaution as that nearly screwed us over big time.
View From The Top Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 That was a proper cup tie! I'm now fully convined about Antonio!
Colinjb Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Great result, keeps us on the up!!!! Would love the Fish lovers in the next round Grimsby?
John B Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Gobern's not a defender and should not be played there IMO. Thats what I thought but we do not have any backup to Harding
Third Division South Days Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Strange substitutions really Was Harding injured? But really good win More like AP was afraid of a second booking. Gobern at LB though?
CanadaSaint Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Every game is lessons learned. Antonio is the right side starter, we're better on the front foot with width both sides, Connolly can play off Lambert and they won't have enough markers, we're best not playing in our own end, and ... Gobern ain't a left back. We've won from behind and we've won staying ahead. Everything is cool. And if AP is the guy I think he is, he'll hold his hands up and admit his error.
krissyboy31 Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 The perfect result. A victory that still keeps feet firmly on the ground because they came back into the game and scored 2 late goal. We're soooooooo much better than a month ago' date='[/b'] but not yet at top notch. Anthonio and Connelly 2 plus points tonight, along with Kelvin. Bring on Leeds at home in round 2!! But still conceded 2 late goals to Rovers. At least this time it didn't cost us!! Still dismayed at our inability to keep clean sheets though.
saintfully Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Result. Connelly showing his absolute class, and Antonio showing his crazy pace (and good skill on occasion too). Hopefully Gobern will learn to calm down a bit - raw talent causing mayhem at the moment.
Toomer Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Great result, keeps us on the up!!!! Would love the Fish lovers in the next round Skates not in it till 3rd round
Mark`` Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Antonio was brilliant. Thought Connollys finishing is fantastic
alpine_saint Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Revenge is a dish best served cold, and its very cold in Bristol.... Great result, sign Antonio, send Gobern out on loan.
Charlie2008 Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Enjoyed that. Thankyou boys. Good cup-tie away from home. Need to close games out better though. 3-0 up, half way thru the 2nd half, should've been more comfortable at the end!
Colinjb Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Other scores: Notts County 2-1 Braford, Huddersfield 6-1 Dagenham. Avoid Huddersfield in round 2.
Stepgar Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Skates not in it till 3rd round I would not fancy our chances against them, we are nowhere near playing that well. They have been demolishing teams in the prem recently, they just havnt been getting the results
smithy Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Quality! Watched it online (thanks guys) Antonio superb! Connolly too, Gobern is not a defender, utter rubbish and at fault for both goals. Mills looked good at the end. Jaidi is effing immense!!
CanadaSaint Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Revenge is a dish best served cold, and its very cold in Bristol.... It would have been nice to hear our lot singing "Goodnight Irene" to them.
mcjwills Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Had a great feed on sopcast from star sports in china, so watched all the game on line, stayed away from the forum as it was delayed about a minute. Thought Antonio was superb tonight, Connolly great 2 goals and of course we are the first team through to the second round.
Delmary Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Result. Connelly showing his absolute class, and Antonio showing his crazy pace (and good skill on occasion too). Hopefully Gobern will learn to calm down a bit - raw talent causing mayhem at the moment. Was not a penalty.
beatlesaint Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Thats what I thought but we do not have any backup to Harding Joseph Mills, Lee Holmes, Lee Molyneux....in that order
SuperMikey Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Thought we were a bit sloppy after going 3-0 up to concede twice, and concerned that we're not playing the ball out of defence, just hoofing it up the pitch. Having said that, we were the better team and deserved to win. They obviously sounded out Lambert as the dangerman before the game, they swarmed over him all game! Lallana looked great, as did Antonio and Connolly. Bring on Charlton!
Leicestersaint Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Good result obviously - could have been 5 all having watched it on Justin tv (??). Antonio gets better and better - sign him up!
Colinjb Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 Was not a penalty. Sorry mate, he was crawling all over him. It was blatant.
alpine_saint Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 It would have been nice to hear our lot singing "Goodnight Irene" to them. Sorry, I've just watched Wrath of Khan this evening. *GEEK ALERT*
mickyp Posted 6 November, 2009 Posted 6 November, 2009 in the space of 20 mins Gobern managed to get caught out postion for the 1st goal for rovers, then got booked for a challenge he dd not need to make, smashed a ball across the box when a gental tap and lambert would of scored and to top it all of gave away the pen which was all over their guy. Strange sub indeed esp when even if Harding was injured we had Mills on the bench who plays left back. I do wonder sometimes! Thats just saints ina nutshell. But Connelly could be signing of season
