I am assuming it is because of "mad cow" disease, that they don't want us? YOU MAY NOT DONATE BLOOD IF YOU: © have a history of hepatitis or AIDS. © have traveled to a malarial area of the world in the past 12 months. © have lived in the U.K. for 3 months cumulatively from 1980 – 1996. © have spent time in Europe that adds up to 5 years cumulatively (1980 - present). © have had a tattoo applied, body parts pierced (excluding ear piercing), or an accidental needle stick in the past 12 months. © have a history of cancer, with the exception of basal and squamous cell skin cancer. © have used cocaine in the past 12 months. © have had a positive test for syphilis in the past 12 months. © (for men) have had sex with another man, even once, since 1977. © have used a needle to take drugs not prescribed by a doctor. © have taken money or drugs for sex since 1977. © have given anyone money or drugs to have sex with you in the past 12 months. © have had sex with anyone in the past 12 months who has: § used a needle to take drugs not prescribed by a doctor. § taken money or drugs for sex. © have taken the following medications: § Proscar (prostate gland enlargement) – 1 month deferral § Propecia (baldness) – 1 month deferral § Accutane (severe acne) – 1 month deferral § Avodart (prostate enlargement) – 6 month deferral § Soriatane (severe psoriasis) – 3 year deferral § Tegison (severe psoriasis) – indefinite deferral If you have any questions regarding eligibility, contact the Blood Donor Center at: (323) 900-4423 Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
