Colinjb Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 YESSSSSSSS!!!! He did it!!!!!!! A true triumph of technique over bulk! Brilliant! Just brilliant!!!!
Baj Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Brilliant technical fight from haye, and so close to flooring Valuev.
Colinjb Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 He damaged his right hand in the 2nd round...... He wanted to be more aggresive but couldn't attack as much.
Joesaint Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 He damaged his right hand in the 2nd round...... He wanted to be more aggresive but couldn't attack as much. 3rd round he said.
benjii Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 He damaged his right hand in the 2nd round...... He wanted to be more aggresive but couldn't attack as much. Very impressive all round. Fair play to Valuev for using what he has but someone needed to get him out of the way.
Colinjb Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 3rd round he said. He said: '2nd or third round.' Would have loved to have seen what he could have done without that!
Joesaint Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 He said: '2nd or third round.' Would have loved to have seen what he could have done without that! yea guys on radio five live say it helped him last, but he seemed to be having so many chances I bet he would have knocked him down. Wish I watched it
CWD Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Well done to David Haye for bringing the title home! what a result against a 7 foot, 23 stone monster. Brilliant night for him and British boxing
Baj Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Recorded the whole fight, will stick the last round + announcement up asap
Colinjb Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Valuev was staggered by Haye's LEFT hand! Not his right!!!!!!!! He made the immovable object shake with his weaker hand.
Joesaint Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Recorded the whole fight, will stick the last round + announcement up asap Nice one.

Colinjb Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 kelvin loses to first round TKO... damn, it was the only saints connection i could make tonight too #ahem# Check earlier in the thread.
The Majestic Channon Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Haye is a moron. 'I will hummiliate the hairy russian' Er, Noey er yessy Who's the moron now?
RonManager Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Valuev in the first round. One almighty punch from on high. Another classic Ron prediction.
saint_stevo Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 er yessy Who's the moron now? Humiliate? It was pathetic, Haye spent an hour running away, with the odd cheeky punch the BFG shook off, other than the last round when Haye did land a couple of decent punches.
saint boggy Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 wayhay! well done !! i don't know much about boxing, but his opponent was a beast of a man!! :smt103 did it go all the way, or was there a knockout??
maxi_sopez Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 the pub i watched it in as soon as it was announced he won turned it off, so didnt even get to see hayes reaction......anyone got any links so i watch post match analysis!
saint_stevo Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Won on majority points Fight was a bit of a wet fart, very much cat and mouse, with the mouse able to run away and land a few of his own....
Colinjb Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Humiliate? It was pathetic, Haye spent an hour running away, with the odd cheeky punch the BFG shook off, other than the last round when Haye did land a couple of decent punches. He did humilate him, he ran him ragged, Valuev could get nowhere near him and then he nearly got felled by Haye's waeker hand. He showed him up as the one dimensional lump he is.

He showed him up as the one dimensional lump he is. He ran away. Toe to Toe, Valuev would have battered him. But i guess Haye was tactically spot on, even if it was gash to watch. Any news on the scorecard by the way? Haye takes the majority decision, the first judge scores it 114-114, with the other two scoring it 116-112.
Colinjb Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 He ran away. Toe to Toe, Valuev would have battered him. But i guess Haye was tactically spot on, even if it was gash to watch. Haye takes the majority decision, the first judge scores it 114-114, with the other two scoring it 116-112. No sh*t. I was more meaning the round by round breakdown. And correct me if i'm wrong, but isn't the art of boxing about landing punches onto your opponent? You can hardly have a go at Haye for being by far and away the more agile fighter. Haye was spot on, and if his hand had survived the 2/3rd whatever round it would have been far better a spectacle.
benjii Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 He ran away. Toe to Toe, Valuev would have battered him. But i guess Haye was tactically spot on, even if it was gash to watch. are you a skate fan or something? That's called boxing. If someone is nine inches taller and seven stone heavier than you, you probably aren't going to want to stand toe-to-toe with them.
Colinjb Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 The biggest upset on weight in the history of boxing. Saint Stevo, I challenge you to stand toe to toe with a guy 7 stones heavier then you and beat them on a game of exchanging punches. Haye played a tactical masterclass.
Colinjb Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 wayhay! well done !! i don't know much about boxing, but his opponent was a beast of a man!! :smt103 did it go all the way, or was there a knockout?? Went all the way. Of the judges, one made it a draw, the other two gave it to Haye.
benjii Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Haye is a **** Now you're just being silly. Haye is the :smt062 :smt029

Saint Stevo, I challenge you to stand toe to toe with a guy 7 stones heavier then you and beat them on a game of exchanging punches. Haye played a tactical masterclass. No thanks. Yeah tactically it was great etc, but it was boring, but credit to Haye for 'winning'
Colinjb Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Haye is a **** Wonderful indepth insight into this historic bout. Bravo sir, bravo.
Joesaint Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Haye is a **** ? Care mate, as long as he wins.
Colinjb Posted 7 November, 2009 Posted 7 November, 2009 Historic? The biggest upset in terms of weight difference in boxing history.
StuRomseySaint Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 Thank god the judges looked at boxing ability... Haye won it by a mile.
saint lard Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 Boxing is crap. So crooked it's unbelievable
Colinjb Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 What a load of fixed sporting crap You have posted this in two threads now, explain your comments.
aintforever Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 I didn't have a great link but from what I saw Haye fought a clever fight. He made himself hard to hit and made the Russians size work against him.
Hopkins Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 Yeah shocking fight but really for Haye to win it was never going to be any different. Done something nobody else has done really and made Valuev wobble in the last round. Haye v Vitali will be a much better fight worth watching when it happens. Tonight he fought a tactical masterclass and pulled it off, but I honestly can not see Haye doing anything other than trying to knock out as many fighters as he can from now on. He's an entertainer in this sport and won't be wanting to tactially fight anyone again. It had to be done tonight against a man 7 stone heavier, but he won't be wanting to do it again.
chrisobee Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 Recorded the whole fight, will stick the last round + announcement up asap Good man, can't wait ! Listened on the radio and it was much more nervy than listening to a Saints match !
bungle Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 Spot on fight from Haye, showed he is world class. A lot of total morons on this thread before the fight, who clearly had no clue or had never seen Valuev fight before. Valuev barely landed a glove on Haye, there is no way he deserved to win that fight. Haye maybe got a bit lax in rounds 4-6, but the hand injury may explain that. But it was Haye who landed the punches in the fight. It wasn't a toe-to-toe brawl, but Haye would have lost had he tried that, he did exactly what he needed to do.
bungle Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 I'll be watching via that link up there. Valuev will destroy Haye. lolovision.
Colinjb Posted 8 November, 2009 Posted 8 November, 2009 lolovision. Ha, Quite. Glad to be proven wrong. Haye was a worthy winner. How did I know you would be the one to pounce on that?
