Haye v Valuev....

Predictions?

It ain't gonna be easy for Haye. First of all he's got to get inside Valuev's punch range and then set about him with body blows and hope Valuev starts to crumble from the weight of all these over a few rounds. But then Valuev is going to lean on Haye and sap all his strength that way.

Going for an early head shot isn't going to be easy but it's got to be an option otherwise this could get to be a very messy war of attrition. I think Haye is going to be the much busier boxer which will help if it comes to points.

So, Haye's hand speed and power over Valuev's slugging and shot absorption? It's a tough call but I'm edging towards Haye if he doesn't get knocked down.

I'm going for Haye. People seem to forget that a 45-year old Holyfield caused Valuev lots of trouble recently (some reckon Holyfield deserved to win the fight), and Haye is much better than the current Holyfield.

Haye will know what to do, very good interview with him in Guardian yesterday. He does a lot of his c*cky stuff purely for the benefit of the media, but he's got his head screwed on when it comes down to it.

Edit: Also, the heavyweight division could do with a Haye victory.

Holyfield certainly did cause Valuev lots of problems and just about everyone bar the judges thought he won the fight. It's hard to say what type of fight it will be thought it could well be a messy well given the vast differences between the 2 boxers. I don't actually think Haye is that c*cky, like bungle I just see it as press hype. I'm edging towards Haye as he is a far better boxer and despite his size Valuez isn't the hardest puncher the Heavyweight division has ever seen. Haye with a late stoppage or on points, I'm certainly hoping he wins.

Ahh I have been waiting for someone to post up a thread on this.

I am a massive Haye fan and have witnessed his power live last year at the Monty Barratt fight. I have followed his career since his first few fights and he is a talented fighter and I have no doubt he will be 'world heavyweight champ' one day. I am concerned that this Russian is just too big. The Russian has also lost some weight and got himself into the best condition he has been in for a long time, which shows how seriously he is taking Haye's threat.

I know the arguments for the Hollyfield fight but that could work against Haye. It may be lesson learned for Valuev and can anyone see him making that mistake twice?

This fight won’t be pretty and I can see the big Russian using all his experience and strength to lean in, hold and sap Hayes strength and mobility.

My personal opinion is if it goes past 6 rounds then the Russian will win. I think Haye does have the power to be the first man to knock this guy out. Can he get in close enough though that is another question?

I think it is one of the toughest fights to call in a long time and that is what makes it such an exciting match up.

Personally I cannot wait.

Well Freddie Roach is picking a Haye victory and he's rarely wrong.

However, I see Valuev as just too big. How on earth does Haye get close? And for a big man Valuev does have fast hands and a good jab although not the power his size suggests. If we're comparing Holyfield with Haye there's one thing Holyfield has that Haye doesn't and that's a fantastic chin. If he can show that same resilience then he may have a chance but it's asking a lot to duck, dive, hit and not be hit and avoid being smothered by a monster of a man for 12 rounds and get a result in Germany.

I just can't see Haye winning this one but I'd be delighted if he did. The heavyweight division could do with smaller guys showing some skill instead of ponderous brutes but this is one hell of a challenge. My prediction - Valuev KO in round 9.

I can't see how he can do it, he is unexperienced at this level (pretty much), fighting a guy much much bigger than himself.

He has bulked up so probably lost speed, as he surely cannot go toe to toe.

He is punching upwards, valuev down !!

And to top it all is a c*cky Pr*ck.

I may be wrong.
