paulwantsapint Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 With FA Cup kicking off on fri will any of our loan signings be prevented from playing by their parent clubs? Likewise will Saints prevent any of our loaned out players play for other teams?
Dannyboy_Saint Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Trotman possibly other than that doubt any of our other loans will be left out.
The Godfather Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 (edited) I don't know about us but Rovers are missing Chris Dickson & mikkel anderson plus aaron lescott whos injured. Danny coles could also be missing. Edited 3 November, 2009 by The Godfather
Crab Lungs Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 I don't know about us but Rovers are missing Chris Dickson & mikkel anderson plus aaron lennon whos injured. Danny coles could also be missing. Bloody hell, he's nosedived :-o
VectisSaint Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 As far as I know no-one is cup-tied, I don't think any of our squad has played in the Qualifying rounds this season for any other team. Some of our loanees may not be allowed to play by their parent clubs, but that has nothing to do with being cup-tied per se. It may be of course that they want to avoid them being cup-tied in future rounds.
altoniansaints Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 on the subject of our loanees is there any news on Antonio`s loan being extended as i was under the impression his month is up today??????
JustMike Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 on the subject of our loanees is there any news on Antonio`s loan being extended as i was under the impression his month is up today?????? its on another thread. looks like we are extending it. (according to todays echo)
chichestergas Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 So, how many will you guys be bringing to the Mem on Friday night? I will be very surprised if the total attendance exceeds 7,500 to be honest. We have been crap since we beat you, and our defence is leaking goals left right and centre. Since our win at SMS, we have shipped 17 goals in five games! If Danny Coles misses out (and it looks like he will) than Lambert will have a bloody field day!

Noticed your results have been bad since beating us. That'll learn ya ;-)

krissyboy31 Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~1845791,00.html Antonio can play but Mellis and Trotman can't.
NickG Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 Trottman and Mellis not allowed to play http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4717593.Antonio_extends_loan_deal/

Dannyboy_Saint Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 So Perry or Thomas in at CB then. Which would people prefer? Thomas has the physical presence but Perry has the experience and could work better alongside a big CB like Jaidi.

John B Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 Why on earth wont Chelsea allow Mellis? Crazy Because he maybe loaned out to a Championship Club after Christmas?
St Will Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 I wonder if Preston are thinking about taking Trotman back, hence why they don't want him to play in the FA Cup. Or maybe it's just a precaution in case they find themselves with loads of injuries in January and need him back just to fill a gap.

Or maybe they are making out they might want to keep him, knowing that we are interested, therefore trying to crank up the asking price?

Maybe it's because he's a saleable commodity and his value may not be quite so high if he is cup-tied?
Matthew Le God Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 Why on earth wont Chelsea allow Mellis? Crazy Because they have a transfer ban at present and may need him if they pick up alot of injuries.
SuperMikey Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 So Perry or Thomas in at CB then. Which would people prefer? Thomas has the physical presence but Perry has the experience and could work better alongside a big CB like Jaidi. If Thomas is fit, play him. I think Perry is too old and slow, 10 years ago he would've been a key player for us, but not now.
Smirking_Saint Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 Why on earth wont Chelsea allow Mellis? Crazy He is not really getting any game time, which surprises me as i think he is a very talented little player, his potential exceeds that of antonio. I would imagine the chelsea backroom has noticed this and are probably looking for teams giving him minutes, after all this is probably why he was sent on loan. Bit worried about Trotman not being allowed, may mean Preston wants him back. After all if he was one they were looking at selling to help them survive i would like to think saints were front of the Q.
SaintDonkey Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 Because they have a transfer ban at present and may need him if they pick up alot of injuries. That actually makes a lot of sense. I wonder how far down the injuries would go before they recalled him?

Maybe it's because he's a saleable commodity and his value may not be quite so high if he is cup-tied? Both very logical explanations.
converted_saint Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 Worried that Preston won't let Trotman play. Suggests they'll want him back in Jan. Not good news for us. Time for Liebherr to flash the cash again methinks, offer Preston a deal they can't refuse and sign him permanently!
