Micky Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Last count suggested it will be his 15th chance... Exactly - hence I would be more than a little disappointed if he was give a chance to ply his trade at SFC once released. Why should our clubs customers be the one that pays his over exorbinate fees, which in turn appears to fuel his total disregard for anybody who he feels is 'not in his league'. Thanks, but no thanks. All of that said - somebody, somewhere will give him a chance I feel. So fickle are we, and so disregarding of others misfortune, there will be a club who see the chance of getting him on the cheap who will jump at the chance. Don't forget - he will probably be out in time for the start of next season, so I'll wager he's playing somewhere.
St Will Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 I would just like to take this opportunity to congratulate Marlon King on his very first hat trick. Rumour has it he scored three times in the showers this morning.
The9 Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 What did Chelsea do after Mutu got banned? If I'm right didn't they sue him for the transfer fee? There's a can of worms you don't want to open up... Still sub judicie and heading for the highest appeal court in the EU IIRC.
Nadia Sllim Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Imagine if David James went down, think how many times he would drop the soap?
St Will Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Poor Marlon, can't even score in a nightclub.....
the saint in winchester Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 No. It does depend on the type of offence IMO but in this instance unprovoked violent crime against a woman then it's going to be a very desperate club who sign him upon his release. One would hope, but the reality is that some (so-called) enlightened manager/club will take the view he has paid his debt and offer him a way back. Like Lee Hughes case. I hope Wigan can hold his player registration until he retires, then tear it up. He should be ashamed of his actions, but they were heightened by his denial of the charges, and insistence it was another bloke.
trousers Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 My computer must be broken. It says this thread has reached 3 pages. Back to PC World tomorrow.
SW11_Saint Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 NO! Sounds like a total and utter ****. And not half as good as he thinks he is either.
St Will Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 When the judge told him he was sentenced to 18 months in prison, Marlon King dropped to his knees, screamed hystericaly and sobbed like a baby. He never was very good at taking penalties.
derry Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Reported today. The surgeon who tried to fix her broken nose was quoted as saying that her nose bones were so badly smashed by the force of the blow she will have permanent disfigurement. (presumably plastic surgery will be difficult or impossible) That arrogant bully needs a good belting. Hopefully she'll sue a lot of money out of him and in the meantime the FA should ban him for bringing the game into disrepute and kick him out of football.
mightysaints Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 The reason Steven Gerrard got off scot free for his recent transgression was that he was tried in Liverpool. They were never going to do one of their own. But had it been held in Mancherster then yes he would have been nicked
Red&White Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 No f**king way. And I doubt ML would permit it. He has a string of convictions as long as your arm. He's a serial offender. He'd do something wrong again and embarass the club Jeeez, you'd welcome Lee Hughes or Luke McCormick next.. Spot on alpine
oldskoolsi Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Indeed I am, I apologise. However, I refuse to believe that no-one on this thread has ever gone over the speed limit on a motorway. I read that Robertson was doing 124mph. I agree that virtually everyone who has a car has probably sped at some point in time. However if you're going that fast you are a complete tool and deserve all you get.

Saint Fen Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Poor Marlon, can't even score in a nightclub..... Made me laugh!! Seriously though, I wouldn't welcome Marlon King when he comes out. He had several chances and has blown them everytime.
oggiee Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Absolutly no way no how. What he did was unforgivable for many reasons, cheating on his wife with whom he has 3 kids, hitting a woman, the attitude he had "do you know who i am? I'm a millionaire" ****ing disgusting. Not only that, but after being sentenced to jail time, his family started accusing the judge of being rascist, it is so pathetic it's untrue. There were so many witnesses there who saw him do it, one of whom used to be at the same club as him, why he and his family didn't accept it like a man is beyond me.
Bailey Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Everyone deserves a second chance, but the problem is, Marlon King has had a second, third and even fourth chance to sort himself out, yet he still causes problems. I wouldn't want him anywhere near our club when he gets released from prison. He's done wrong on numerous occasions and shouldn't be given the opportunity to get back into football IMO.
SoccerMom Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 He deserves a medal not a prison sentence, women, KNOW YOUR LIMITS! This isn't offensive, but it's almost gratuitously stupid.
JustMike Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 (edited) It certainly doesnt sound like the description I read of what McCormick did. must be true then im all for people being given a 2nd chance, they are tried and convicted by the courts so why shouldnt they go back to a job they are good at? That said King is a 1st class tosser and wouldnt want him here. He isnt good enough for a start Edited 2 November, 2009 by JustMike

That said King is a 1st class tosser and wouldnt want him here. He isnt good enough for a start Lets remember that Marlon King has already had his second, third , fourth and more chances. The man is a violent thug who should not be allowed to use his football ability to obtain any level of respect from the public, and certainly not to set an example to young people.
Justbelieve Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Just seen a picture of the 20 year old girl that he punched in the face. Judging by reports she did nothing to him but ignore his advances. He is a disgrace to mankind and should be left to rot in his own hellhole.
docker-p Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Hopefully someone will spread his nose across his face in prison. He's not a man he's a worm.
latter day saint Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Hopefully someone will spread his nose across his face in prison. He's not a man he's a worm. hopefully he will becomes some very large mens b*tch while in prison
suewhistle Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 I'm all for the rehabilitation of offenders but not by my club, I would hope. Not only did he sexually assault the woman but, when asked to stop hit her _hard_ on the nose. Reports say she is small and slightly built.. it really beggars belief. I've never hit anyone in my life or been booked at hockey/footie, but I'd be tempted to do a two-footed tackle with my 75 kilos on his cruciates.
Smirking_Saint Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Would you be happy if we signed him once he's released ? Good player, sh*t attitude, utter c*nt. I have not been bothered to read the rest of the post as it is a 100% no from my camp !!!! Mod's, can we have a poll ??
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 Never mind the fact that he's had convictions for slapping women about.....the most important factor is this.....Marlon King is sh1te. And with that in mind, not a chance would i want him here.
Windmill Arm 2 Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 On reflection, Marlon King would fit in nicely down the road at Nottarf Krap.
Nineteen Canteen Posted 2 November, 2009 Posted 2 November, 2009 But someone will. Lee Hughes for example. My guess will be a championship side with a rogue manager. Leicester?
slickmick Posted 3 November, 2009 Author Posted 3 November, 2009 Leicester? I will take the moral high ground over you on this one.
dellgirl Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 Any club that takes on a troublemaker with violence in his genes deserve every problem that comes with them,I could not see in a million years that we would touch cowardly rabble like that...we are building a strong feisty side without " badboys " lets keep it like that.
krissyboy31 Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 I personally hope somebody in prison breaks is legs so he can't come back.
rallyboy Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 everyone deserves a second chance - Rose West, Peter Sutcliffe, Gary Glitter etc....or maybe not. King's record of transgressions puts the whole 'throw-in betting debacle' in context, and he has already done the 'I've changed, learned my lesson' bit a couple of times. Hopefully any potential managers will have daughters or wives and will think again about employing a man of this ilk. Gordon Taylor may find the King defending camp a lonely place.
scotty Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 You bother to listen to Talk Sport's brand of neanderthal broadcasting? +1, what a pile of sh*te that station is
scotty Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 I personally hope somebody in prison breaks is legs so he can't come back. he may not get his legs broken but he wont be able to sit down for a while, thats for sure
krissyboy31 Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 Gordon Taylor may find the King defending camp a lonely place. Yes, King himself, King's mother, his agent, his solicitor, Taylor and umm...errr.... That's about it.
Hopkins Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 Can't believe that there is actually a debate going on here. 2 things. 1) Anyone claiming they wouldn't take him after he's done his sentance and is out is a fool. 2) He'll go to a better club than ours. He's a good striker.

He's a good striker. Well, for a debate you cannot believe is going on, your opinion is clearly in a very small minority. Most of the people have posted on here have clearly indicated they wouldnt want this woman-beater and all-round prize c.ock-end within a light-year of our club.
Charlie2008 Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 wouldnt want this woman-beater and all-round prize c.ock-end within a light-year of our club. +1!!

It does I agree but if we put everything into context like that we would eradicate any 'frivoulous' activity. For example we could say that witnessing our returning war heroes who are either seriously injured for life or killed in action puts football into context. It does make you wonder though what level of crime MLT could be found guilty of hypothetically before he to would be subject to the kind of comments being reserved on this thread for King. Within the context of Saints I still find MLT's actions heinous and so dismissive of his adoring fans. The fact he has as far as I'm aware remained silent only adds to the whole sorry affair IMO.

But we are happy to champion an alleged fraudster and/or liar as someone to be proud of and their connection with our club? I don't condone what King did and in terms of severity it's one down from rape IMO but where do you draw the line? I appreciate the fact King was convicted of his crime whereas the CPS did not pursue MLT's case as it was not deemed in the public interest but the CPS's decision was hardly a ringing endorsement with regard to MLT's innocence IMO.
rallyboy Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 sorry! I opened the door and the little mischief-maker ran in. NC you are a naughty rascal and you know that there are people on here who will leap upon this now, I won't make that mistake again, which funnily enough I was only saying to another great hero LM the other day.

You really need to get your psychiatrist to change your medication, if you truly believe that b*ll*cks. The likes of Paul Merson, Tony Adams, Michael Owen, Ian Wright have all had their problems with addictions or had scrapes with the law or both. All though have got professional help and in the case of the law breakers, have done their time and have come back to resurrect their careers. All of those would have been welcome at Saints, if we had been in the position to sign them. The likes of Marlon King and Joey Barton are just scumbags, who show no remorse for their actions, they do not even believe that they have done wrong or have a problem, let alone be prepared to do rehabilitation or counselling to cure them. Yet, no doubt some club will sign him on release to feed his multimillion pound ego, until he goes down again. Edited 3 November, 2009 by krissyboy31

Did you really post that ? I had to read it twice, just to take in its crassness. No real Saints fan would compare Marlon King to MLT.
Verbal Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 Did you really post that ? I had to read it twice, just to take in its crassness. No real Saints fan would compare Marlon King to MLT. The clue is in your last sentence.
Professor Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 Gordon Taylor has had to issue a statement to 'clarify' what was meant by the PFA giving support to King. A fairly mealy mouthed statement that still doesn't recognise that King is a serial offender, or that footballers are in a special position of influence over many young fans. Its not what a player does as a footballer that gives him his high wages, its the high media profile of football - and the price of that should be that truly bad behaviour rules you out.
slickmick Posted 3 November, 2009 Author Posted 3 November, 2009 Did you really post that ? I had to read it twice, just to take in its crassness. No real Saints fan would compare Marlon King to MLT. You bite to easy. Its done for a reaction. He's still smarting over the fact Nigel Pearson is proving himself as a good manager.
Wes Tender Posted 3 November, 2009 Posted 3 November, 2009 Leicester? Come on then, I'll bite. Give us your very own diatribe justifying your assertion that Leicester have a rogue manager. I'm sure that it will make interesting reading.
